Re: Turbo Optima mid (SE???)

FWIW, I've owned 3 or 4 Mids and all of them were missing part OPM-9. You can see it here on page 13 of the manual. OPM-9.JPG I've never actually seen one but I think it's rubber. It's meant to seal the underside of the belt cover where the belt exits the rear gearbox - directly above the motor. Th...

Re: Best Kyosho Score In....?

Think I'll sell the box, catalogue and the Optima wheels with the Dunlop tires. Anyone know what they're off. I think he might have had tape on them, or traction compund-the tread is a little sticky, but nothing some Goo Gone won't fix. As for the other Mid that slipped in, well. New Zealand is a ma...

Re: Best Kyosho Score In....?

The "new" Turbo Mid is such an origional car. Only needed a gentle wash and the shocks cleaned and topped up. Here it is, before and after a 30 hour 11 am-7am 30 hour "rebuild". I love it. My white Mid is coming along, need to solder the motor wires on, but I was exhausted. I tri...

Re: RC10 Noob Questions

The Thorp gears are 48P, while stock is 32P. The are part of a complete gear set. Standard pan car spur gears, diff balls, and diff rings work fine. No need in paying top dollar for vintage AE stuff. I usually use Kimbrough spur gears and RJ Speed diff rings and balls on six gear trans. But nothing ...

Re: RC10 Noob Questions

I don't think he has the Thorp gear set. I think he's looking for idle gears and seen those and wondered if they were viable.

Today, Right Now, Your Most Fun RC Surface Vehicle?

Given perfect conditions for the vehicle, tomorrow morning, and of course having the day off, what RC four wheeled vehicle would you take out for the most fun? Carpet car, you found a track with brand new carpet free to play on. Buggy / truggy, you found a perfect dirt course with perfect grip. Craw...

Re: Today, Right Now, Your Most Fun RC Surface Vehicle?

Tough question , it's a bit like voting on the BOTM comp ! It's worse as i usually take two cars at least ! The only time I only take one is when I go crawling ! I guess the car that gets most use is my PB Mini Mustang , I drive it way harder than I should but it just eggs me on , I often have to st...

Re: Turbo Optima mid SE

First crack at test fitting parts and building a sub assembly. All went good. On some of the plastic parts I needed to tap a few threads into the plastic because the new hardware is machine thread not self-tapping screws. The aluminum pieces, when installed, IMHO look awesome. Way better looking tha...
