Re: Turbo Optima mid SE
The only real "test of durability" I have done is in final color matching. After the final sealing with Nickel Acetate, I used some Turtle wax rubbing compound to slightly lighten darker anodized parts. The compound does remove some ano and dye as was evident on the soft white cotton rag u...

Re: Is Vaterra gone for good?
Hi Doug, I told you i would keep you updated on the Losi Clear body Kit (LOS230081). It comes with black bumpers, grill, and side mirrors. The only chrome parts are the light buckets that go inside the car. I searched the Losi website for a chrome version but did not see one available so your whole ...

Re: Mid-motor B1, B4, B6 V2
Been awhile Recently got a Carbon fiber RC10 LiPo battery holder. The aluminum spacers that came with it were raw aluminum. Even polished they didn't look right, so anodize them... The spacers are small and cylindrical so they are relatively easy to bring up to a mirror finish. It did take four or f...

Re: RC10 Team car restoraion
I took the whole car apart and started cleaning the plastic parts and sorting out what screws and hardware was missing. Most of the stuff was there, I just needed to find some parts for the shocks. First big project was to do some work on the chassis, I was out of the game when this car came out so ...

Re: Mid-motor B1, B4, B6 V2
It took 3 more attempts, but I got it! Anodized to .8 mil and 25 minutes in the dye bath. Almost perfect match to the 91668 RC10B6 FT Aluminum Steering Bellcranks. The "test'' cube above was anodized to 1mil and 30 minutes of dye bath. The curiosity is when the same Electric Blue dye is used at...

Re: Turbo Mid Score
Some fresh photos. It baffled me why the White Mid's decals didn't sit straight, I wasn't having that! After some sectioning they're much better. The platinum shocks on the SE are brand new, factory filled with oil and not an air bubble in sight, just perfect! Expensive and a real mission to find. B...

Re: Shock Identification
Bottom shock is in fact, the greatest shock ever made ever. KYOSHO PLATINUM. Did I mention how great it was?

Re: Stealth Trans w/Gear Diff
I have been following this thread very interested. NICE WORK!! I thought I found the ideal ball diff for you, unfortunately it also is discontinued. It is a Losi and uses 46T instead of 45. Part number: LOSB3594 Maybe you can find one in the US. That would pretty much solve the issues of the diff he...

Re: Turbo Optima mid SE
A little better close up of my mod to seal the upper belt cover. The original piece's Kyosho part# is apparently OT-103. Also recessing the screw under the upper belt cover so the belt cover can be flush to the upper deck. I left a small portion of the metal in the rubber part to maybe get it to sea...

Quote: “That's interesting Tony. I've never even considered using another manufacturer's diff. “ As soon as I get confirmation that Schumacher uses 48 dp I might go forward with my project. Well, don't like bearing bad news but... In regards to the V3 Ball Diff KD / Laydown / KR and similar gear di...

Re: 3D printer for parts
On my latest gold pan build, I am putting a stealth trans into an "A" pan, so I thought I would just google a quick adapter as surely someone out there has made such a thing seeing as RC10 3D files are numerous, but for some reason, this does not seem to exist. :? Oh well, not a complex pi...
