Re: The Official "What is it?" Thread

It's a Rustler, just an older one.

The older carriers used tiny 5x8 bearings. I'd replace them with newer ones, with the stronger 5x11 bearings.

Re: The Official "What is it?" Thread

I googled Rustler images but, based upon style of wheels and body, all of them appear to be the more modern version. My son's truck is ~10 years old. It has the newer grey chassis and larger wheels. It is an XL-5 version with the yellow esc, made at the transition to the TRX battery plug. Also had ...

Mugen Bulldog at last !

Well I finally got one at a reasonable price :D I think after the Yokomo 834b this was the car I dreamt off most as a kid , I've always loved cage cars but I never thought I'd ever find a Bulldog at a reasonable price . This one is not fully original , previous owner put a second steering servo on f...

Re: So what did you get in the post today ???

The shock caps are leaking (the truck probably sat upside down in the box during transit) but otherwise it's in very good condition. I'm very happy with it so far. :D The bladders are probably dried out. Don't buy them separately, just buy two rebuild kits. They are cheap and the parts are good qua...

Re: Anything 80s on the horizon?

Blitzer Beetles are only temporarily out, shows due next month. They were in stock a couple weeks ago. I was looking at those today. I'm thinking about ordering the Beetle when they are back in stock to make a Stadium Blitzer. I can order a re-pop Stadium Blitzer body and decal set from our friends...

RC10DS - 1969 Camaro Redux (from HPI to Kyosho)

Back in 2013 Romulus22 knew i wanted an RC10DS nitro car. He also knew a guy that was selling one. He connected us and the rest is history. The RC10DS was mailed to me from Arizona and that started the DS fever. This is my first Nitro DS. I painted a HPI 69 Camaro body for it and kept stock exhaust ...

Re: And more ebay junk

Got this one all wired up and painted. I had a HPI radio set sitting around, so I used it. And I mounted a Tekin Rebel esc on a Sabula Tech shelf. Screenshot_20210816-201843_Gallery.jpg The body is a JConcepts F-150, specifically for the 10T. It is painted in Tamiya red with Duratrax silver and gunm...

Re: RC10 NEO Stealth Car

Had some extra time this afternoon so I started cutting up the body and got it to fit, if you build one of these cars you really have to cut the crap out of the body for it to fit. Michael the designer has a Protech II on the cars he built but since I put a Mirage body on it I ended up cutting the f...

Re: Built for the Shelf Versus built to Run

But really we are just a bunch of weidos that like old toy cars :D Ha ha yup, we are a splinter of a minority group of weirdos! So whether every bit of alloy has to be mirror polished, you need your carbon fibre weave to be diagonal, or you like em grubby, we are all old men playing with toy cars. ...

Re: Birthday RC10

Gotta say this Jconcepts body seems to fit like a glove!
No thin spots either.

Not fully trimmed yet but 90% of the way there.

Re: Exercise in frustration

Well, it certainly looks good in the photo. What paint color did you go with -- it looks very close to box-art color. Its Tamiya camel yellow, full can. Then backed in silver. Since the car is nowhere near original, I deviated some. The rollbar is gunmetal instead of black and I used less decals.

Re: Built for the Shelf Versus built to Run

After reading through this thread, I'm apparently in the minority. All I seem to care about owning are shelf queens. My requirements are they have to be in overall excellent condition, and be complete. It's a bonus if they have electronics but it's not a requirement. It doesn't matter if they ...

Re: Hello, from Michigan

Thanks. I started in RC way back in 1984 when I got my first real Rc car, the tamiya grasshopper. I still have the original vehicle today, it was converted to a monster truck when I was a kid. I remember the first time seeing the RC10, my cousin had one, and it was an amazing car compared to everyth...
