Re: Gold Pan Drag Car
Awesome work on that one, but possibly a missed opportunity on the paint scheme

Re: painting advice Masking and Caps
Lighter fluid will turn the adhesive loose without damaging the paint. I've used it with paper towels and q-tips to clean up edges.

Re: So what did you get in the post today ???
A couple of days ago compliments of GoMachV!
Toy grade but my first. You never forget your first! There have been quite a few I'd prefer to forget though.

WLToys 144001 at Walmart for $37! (back on sale!)
Just a heads up, anyone who wants something fast and modern and cheap to bash with, or if you've seen what folks online are doing with these things, the WLToys 144001 is already a screaming deal for less than $80. But at $37 they are practically disposable! Blue/green for $37: https://www.walmart.co...

Re: Kyosho Fantom 1/12 (1983) Tech/Giken Model Chassis Conversion
Next with upper radio tray added. The additional radio tray post in the middle stiffens the main chassis section to allow rear motor assembly flex. Silicone tubing and piano wire provide a little damping action to rear flex suspension. 20211029_014520.jpg I fitted re-release Fantom pre-glued tyres, ...

Re: Impulse buy; Axial SCX6
Just got mine in today. I can pretty much echo xlr8’s comments. It runs really well for its size. Top gear is plenty fast and low gear will allow it to climb well. I had no problem navigating the three steps into my house. Waiting for a break in the weather to run it out in the wild. https://www.tam...

RC300 - McLaren - Yes, it's not an RC10DS
The Associated RC300 BD (Ball Differential) - Developed in 1979. This fine specimen was built in 2008 using new parts (as stated in Ebay ad, lol). The oldest RC I have is my originally purchased in 1994 RC10GT. I've only read and seen the these old school nitro pan cars in the RC CarAction magazine...

Re: Impulse buy; Axial SCX6
I saw the video of Exocaged last night where he removed the top completely, probably the one you saw and were mentioning. I'm surprised how good it looked with the top completely removed.
I need to stop watching video of this thing or else I'm gonna be tempted to buy one myself

Re: Ok maybe it is just a tad bit over geared
I guess the big question is what sort of speeds will you be happy with? The Titan 550 12T is nothing to write home about as said by juicedcoup, think Traxxas Slash speeds. A proper 12T modified motor would run rings around the 12T Titan. For general bashing a brushed motor somewhere in the 15 turn t...

Re: Simple RC12i Build
All of the nylon in its pure 40 year old form, cleaned but oranged. I kinda wish I had an actual after pic of this as the parts came out better than expected, but I think it is shown in the completed pics. RC12I 11.jpg I had to print two parts (so far) for this build. The chassis "rib" bro...

Awesome.
I had one in the late 80s and wish I never sold it. I may hunt one down, I would like to relive my teen years

Re: Cat XLS pivot balls U7150
Yeah that's why. The 6mm hex is used to turn into a ball.
Same with the associated ball. Starts with 3/16" hex stock.
