Original Midnight Pumpkin replica
Built a replica with the re-re Black Edition. My first Tamiya RC truck was a Quick Drive Midnight Pumpkin in the 90s, so wanted to finally build a real one. Sourced original tie rods/white ends, era correct electronics, hardly anything else is different chassis-wise. In the middle of body work, but ...

Re: What your workstation looks like?
Some before and after pics of my Hobby Shed. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/49408064247_6e81b88720_k.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/49407384358_501dfe1488_k.jpg It was like that for around 10 years, then there was this global pandemic that caused lots of lockdowns and isolation periods...

Re: Tips and tricks for buying a discontinued rere
If you are after an XLS you are kind of stuck searching hobby shops that might still have new old stock. If you are USA based, Amain is where most of the Schumachers come from, and they are a distributor to smaller shops that cant afford the buy in for Horizon and HRP. That means you can often find ...

Re: Traxxas Sprint Car
The chassis looks interesting. I drove a C4 Vette for many years and they used a single transverse leaf spring at both ends and they were PLASTIC! We prefer the word 'Composite' It's more fancy. I had a '90 Olds Trofeo that also used a transverse leaf spring. It's a pretty neat way of lower...

Retail is $589?
Apparently the leaves are plastic and the knee action shocks have torsion springs wound into them...
Vids for those who cannot live on pics alone...

Re: Traxxas Sprint Car
Nobody has yet mentioned how weird those look without a driver doll. Of all the car models that would seem to require one...it's THIS. :? I'm not sure what looks dumber actually driving around...a modern cab-forward body that looks nothing like a real car, or an open cockpit vintage car model sans d...

Re: 1/10 Scale On-Road - Chassis Options in 2024
Was able to get a brand new Kyosho Fazer MK2 Fleetside, offered the eBay seller $210, and he took it. I always look for auctions with Make an Offer, good deals to be had out there.
Now to find a couple more used cheap chassis's.

Re: So what did you get in the post today ???
Now I have everything to covert the Blitzer Beetle to a Stadium Blitzer -- which is why I bought it in the first place. Have fun masking and painting the roll bar. It's annoying but worth the trouble. Screenshot_20240208_112315_Gallery.jpg For the number plates, I use scrap lexan from the wheel cut...

Re: So what did you get in the post today ???
Another nice decal set from MCI to go with the body and wheels that arrived a few days ago. You forget the window masks? The windshield is on the smaller side, so that it can be trimmed in color. The rear window aren't "necessary", because of the decals. But being clear will allow a small...

Re: Who remembers the Chrysler Turbine car?
I don't "remember it" as in seeing them on the road, but yeah, this one has fascinated me since I was a teenager. Also, the turbine car that dominated Indy only to have a mechanical failure at the end.
