Re: So what did you get in the post today ???

A very unnecessary purchase It came with the documents and box. What connectors were original to this? Haha. I keep seeing those Novak battery boxes for NiMH and want to buy for absolutely no reason :) I had that charger in '86. It came with the Molex/Tamiya just like it has. The battery side of mi...

Re: How to build, original or with quality of life improvements

Thankfully, we don't all drive EV's or AAMCO wouldn't even exist. I'll let that thought sink in. Okay, sorry, back to the Joseph's question. I like to build with what I have at the moment, then go back and replace parts as they become available. I really don't like having boxes of parts setti...

RC10 DS Classic - Build

Image

I'll be fitting the Stock body on this chassis with the black and green boxart. Will also fit a couple custom bodies to this chassis, and may get another DS at some point for those.

Time to get started.

Re: RC10 DS Classic - Build

Steering plate finished. https://i.imgur.com/HBVz6fU.jpg The ball cups had to have the sprue trimmed off of them still. Used the old AE kit tools to build the turnbuckles, no marks left anywhere. https://i.imgur.com/iQiR7x2.jpg https://i.imgur.com/CTmFFqu.jpg https://i.imgur.com/1g1EygE.jpg Ran into...

Don't have a steering servo picked out just yet and Bag C is all about it. Bearings will be here tomorrow, need to decide on vintage style el...

Re: RC10 DS Classic - Build

Rear half. https://i.imgur.com/zupeWSx.jpg This DS manual is sabotage at this point. How did this happen, where the ball stud busted out of the backside? https://i.imgur.com/1vtKAPa.jpg The manual shows this picture, but in the 1:1 size chart on the cover flap, the ball studs are not available to me...

They had the original manual they could've plagiarized, a wealth of knowledge, and just ignored it like it never existed.

Re: Item status notification: #6440 (RC10 Shock Rebuild Set, for 2 shocks)

Vintage 6440 was the later top load shock kit for all 4 shocks. 6467 was early and for two shocks. It appears AE has deviated on the new production pieces.

Re: Resurrect NiCd pack

NiCd's generally aren't affected by being stored for long periods in a discharged state. Old race packs used to be stored with battery bugs attached to keep them fully discharged. The NiCd is far better than the NiMh for devices that rarely get used. NiMh on the other hand would be ruined by sitting...

Re: Hornet EVO video

This such an ideal buggy for introducing a spec class for newbies. An insect buggy that handles decent, dare I say jumps, AND can handle hotter motors. Size and weight make it easy to carry around. Looks are appealing. The silly tires, make the driving experience more fun too, sluggish, more chance ...

Re: Testing Chassis Flex On RC10 Buggy Variants

So I got into the testing this evening, and it started off great with the aluminum tubs, but then ran into a snag with the graphites. I am not a physics guy, so I don't know if what I am stating here is correct in the physical world we live in, but I am just reporting what data I have seen. I starte...
