Re: Javelin makeover

Tried to use the Futaba MC 112 B and it was a no-go on the fitment. I do have a Futaba MC 230 CR that is small enough and would work fairly well with a Kyosho 240ST. The motor will be period correct and the ESC and receiver are later but small enough and all three are in excellent condition. Javeli...

Re: Javelin makeover

Very nice Chuck! Especially the motor - it appears like new. I've also found that fitting the ESC in a Javelin can be a challenge. I'm running brushless and a Reedy SC600 does fit directly behind the battery after I've removed the fan. I also have a Futaba MC 230 but it's in a trail truck at the mom...

Re: GoMachV’s 3d printing thread

Hahaha! So, we are pretty much out of trans cases for the LW, and have been out of outdrives since before I acquired the company. We had a workaround for the outdrives- until AE dropped everything. Ugh. So… with our 91 prototype coming this year we wanted to do something special. We will have a mold...

Not the easiest car I've built but it is growing on me.
Pretty soon I've got to decide on electrics...

Chuck
The car looks fantastic!

Build yourself a Schumacher CAT, Chuck, and you'll think the Mid was easy to assemble.

Turnbuckles

I'm not sure what you all are using for turnbuckles but I was in the market for some for my Team Car rebuild. I'm far too cheap to buy anything titanium, nor am I a good enough driver to make use of any performance gains. I wanted something a tiny bit more flashy than the universal cut-to-length Dub...

Re: Turbo Optima mid SE

Looks great Chuck.
For me, the lexan belt covers are the worst parts on a vintage Mid. They're a hassle during assembly and difficult to create a dust-proof seal against the chassis plates.
The gasketed hard plastic covers on the re-re are an improvement.

Re: Turbo Optima mid SE

Started to place electronics. My Novak 1 is pretty close to the correct time period, little older than the car but close enough. It also fits fairly well and the wiring is basically headed in the correct direction. I tried several other ESCs that I have but it was this or a Futaba MC230cr. The Futa...
