Stealth Trans w/Gear Diff

I’ve been working on this for a while and think I’ve hit upon a design that will work. I want to replace the original Stealth transmission’s ball differential with a B4 (5,6) style gear diff to remedy the outdrive availability problem and to reduce or eliminate the need for frequent transmission mai...

Re: Mid-motor B1, B4, B6

The car looks spectacular Chuck.
One of the best mid-motor conversions I've seen so far.
Just a really neat and tidy design - everything in its place. Well done sir!!

Re: Stealth Trans w/Gear Diff

The main drilling template is finished and has been used to make a set of test plates.

Hole locations and gear mesh is good.
On to the prototype gear cases for running tests.

Re: Futaba FX10

If the cracks are in the front, the CRP bumper/brace should sturdy it up some. Check Ebay.

Re: Bear Hawk

I didn’t see that coming
Nice turnaround! I thought you were going with an arctic snow theme when I first started scrolling. Looks really good though.

Re: Bear Hawk

Great work Chuck, the body looks awesome!
How's the rest of the car, is it a runner?

Re: Bear Hawk

Front tires will be the hardest part for this buggy. If you can find a set they usually run in the $50+ range. Fine for a shelf queen but not so great for a runner. The rear tires are still made.

I sold my Bearhawk a couple years ago. I regret it of course.

Re: Mid-motor B1, B4, B6 V2

Looks great Chuck. The body fits surprisingly well and perhaps it's due in part to the fact that you've retained the rear shocks in their original location. A lot of RC10 mid conversions that I've seen move the shocks and tower behind the axle and I think this can make it difficult find a body that ...

Re: Mid-motor B1, B4, B6 V2

I know its a little late bot Losi TLR 231083 mounts are a good match for some mini servos.

All four holes line up on a Futaba S132H but only two line up on the smaller Hobbico (Hitec).

Re: Mid-motor B1, B4, B6 V2

This is such a cool build  Thanks for sharing it. I was thinking about your front brace issue (which looks solved) but would you have been able to modify the aluminum chassis to accept B6 chassis rails...? Those would have mated up to the front brace and given you some added rigidity in tha...
