Re: The Official "What is it?" Thread
Pretty much all of the motor vendors used yokomo blanks at one time or another. Could be anything but with bushings, it's probably just a 27 turn stocker.
Is the endbell removable?

Re: ** Build of the Year Contest - 2020 ** - Winner - Asso_man!
Thank you so much! I’m really honoured to win this year’s contest with this special tribute build to Gene Husting. It was a very close win though and I want to congratulate all other contenders with their beautiful entries. The idea of a calendar would be fantastic with a part of the proceedings tha...

Re: Mid-motor B1, B4, B6 V2
Looks really creamy and satiny metallic. Pearly. Amazing what a backer of white does.

RC10Talk - Celebrating 19 Years!
Today marks the 15th anniversary of RC10Talk. https://i.imgur.com/BNmrw.gif I just wanted to thank everyone for their continued support and contributions in preserving this wonderful hobby that is R/C. More specifically the "vintage" side of it. Some changes will be taking place sometime ...

Re: Turbo Optima mid (SE???)
Your chassis plate looks to be an SE as the screw holes are countersunk. I believe the Platinum shocks were also an SE option (not an upgrade though, IMO...the Gold shocks were the best). Condition? I've seen FAR worse than that. Looking forward to the resto.

Re: Turbo Optima mid (SE???)
Wow, a challenge to rebuild perhaps, but what a great car it will be when it's finished. If the belt covers haven't been sealed well, the transmission could hold some very ugly surprises so be prepared. Is this your first Kyosho buggy Chuck? If so then welcome to the club. They make great cars. Very...

Re: Turbo Optima mid (SE???)
IMO...the Gold shocks were the best not to discredit anyone, cause 99.999999% agree but Me and "the diamond one" feel the Platinums are the best in the business. Although Chuck, those shocks have special tiny o-rings on the shaft as part of the variable dampening system, plus other stuff....

Re: Turbo Optima mid (SE???)
FWIW, I've owned 3 or 4 Mids and all of them were missing part OPM-9. You can see it here on page 13 of the manual. OPM-9.JPG I've never actually seen one but I think it's rubber. It's meant to seal the underside of the belt cover where the belt exits the rear gearbox - directly above the motor. Thi...

Re: Turbo Optima mid (SE???)
The end result will definitely be worth the elbow grease, Chuck. Polished aluminum just has a classiness that you don't get with chrome plating.

Re: Turbo Optima mid (SE???)
3 of the shock ends that were on the car are pretty torn up and one was missing altogether. I've been trying to replicate the elusive ADj-1 lower shock mount. At least without paying $40 plus for 4 new ones. May have to go that route, but for now I'll try to mod some ends. First attempt, not so goo...

Re: Turbo Optima mid (SE???)
True, but that would be no different for an open ball-end.
I guess that's why some cars went with those screw-in captured-ball-type ball-ends (pictured above) because even if they popped off, the screw would be there to retain them...until that ripped out instead.

Re: Turbo Optima mid (SE???)
Ah, I recognize that news print packing.
I bet it came from Marwan.
FWIW, I've think that decal set looks nice on a white body as well.
