Re: Your favorite ESC (with photo)
I'm probably one of few here who has never raced r/c competitively, besides a small homemade track in my parent's backyard in the early-mid '90s my brother, myself and friends made. Therefore, reverse ESC's were must-haves for us youngsters. My favorite back then was the Super Rooster, so it'll alwa...

Re: Anyone tried this? Yellowed parts white
After boiling the nylon A-arms for a few minutes, I put everything in another bath of 3% peroxide and placed it outside since we had a mostly full day of sunshine, didn't time it but roughly 9 hours I'd say. Can now definitely tell it made some bit of difference, boiling the nylon A-arms certainly d...

Re: Shocks
From experience on my vehicles, Bilstein will give you the better ride and quality without a doubt over KYB or Gabriel. The first time I used Bilstein shocks, I'd never spend another dollar on KYB or Gabriel ever again for my own vehicles. The cost is a little more, but they're well worth it. And I ...

Re: Buying spree at old hobby shop going out of biz
Super cool when unexpected things like this happen. Good find. The nearest by hobbytown (100 mile trip) has multiple medium sized totes full of old AE parts. How old, I don't know, I've never had enough time to sift thru them while I've been there. But one of these times I'm gonna plan time to do so.

Re: RC10T4 Factory Team build
Getting back around to this and added the brushed system and RX; Futaba R203GF receiver, Novak GTS esc & Reedy Ti 12x2 brushed motor. It'll be dressed with the T4 RS pre-painted body, shown here, until the T4.1 FT body gets painted and decaled. Haven't ran it yet besides on the stand to verify s...

Re: Motor Collection - Old School Horsepower
Just cleaned this one up, added new bearings and brushes, but kept the gold springs which seem pretty soft. It's a triple wind armature, but not certain how many turns. The armature looks identical to the armature in my Monster Horsepower 1987 World Champion Joel Magic Johnson black can motor, which...

Re: BIG RED
This is where I am at, the "diamond one" can't paint or customize the body till winter, but has some really trick stuff to do to it, changing the look of the bumpers, roll bar etc, plus filling the cheesy blower area, I am still working on it mechanically, gir a new clutch and tranny goin...

Re: So what did you get in the post today ???
I thought the old Le Mans 240S was a 24X1, fixed timing & bushings - am I thinking of the wrong motor? The local track (back them) let me run it in Stock Monster Truck as the owner said the motor was garbage anyway. I set the track record that night. 240ST is 22x1, fixed timing & bushings. ...

Kyosho Pro-XRT stadium truck rebuild (Team version)
This is my Pro-XRT project I started last May of 2021. It was in a little rough shape and missing a few parts when I got it. I disassembled the truck shortly after getting it, then placed in a tote until a couple weeks ago. Plans are to replace necessary & missing parts (already done) and make i...

Re: Optima Mid RERE
Just checked a second ago, Amain and HobbyTown are both "out of stock" and now on back order. This makes Kyosho as a company seem even more unpleasant/undesirable to me. Having a pre-order take nearly 6 months, then once it hits shelves it's "out of stock" in less than 24 hours. ...

Re: So what did you get in the post today ???
All because I just wanted the box. On the bright side, I almost have enough spare parts to complete the partial unit, which I think needs to be a B4 factory team in lieu of a T4. Oh, and if someone would like that awful hideous looking body (JConcepts I think), cover shipping and it's yours. It's ac...

Re: Traxxas Hawk rebuild
Very cool that it's your actual truck from way back when. Looking forward to the progress, as I've always kinda wanted to get one of these (or a Hawk 2) to do a rebuild. I've kept an eye out for some time now and have actually passed on a couple that looked like good candidates for a rebuild. The Ha...
