Scrapheap Junior
Here we go again. :D I got a lot of extra parts when I purshased my Jrx2 project. There were shock towers, Junior chassis, gearbox, bulkheads, dampers, steering parts, uprights and suspension arms. I cleaned and sorted all parts when I did the Jrx2 and ordered what was missing. I had to start with a...

Re: Turbo Optima mid (SE???)
Cleaning , polishing and a little paint. Hours of cleaning. Hours of sanding. Hours of polishing. And a little paint on the wheels. Toothbrush with simple green, dishwashing detergent and marvel mystery oil. 220grit, 320, 400, 800, 1000, 2000 and 3000. May be 50% of the way done with cleaning and po...

Back then, an RC10 with a bunch of Kyosho stickers all over it     And a Trinity motor    Chuck Actually, it might more accurately be the opposite. Back then, RWD and 4WD cars competed together as few 4WD's could outrun the RC10...the Optima changed all that, and ...

Re: Starting a best shock argument !
Best all around shock? Hands down, I’m a Kyosho gold guy. Best shock that held oil the worst? Delta. Best shock that is nearly impossible to bleed? Delta Best modern shock? Too many to choose from. Most overrated shock? Trinity hands down. Complete rubbish Most interesting shock? Progressive technol...

Re: Starting a best shock argument !
Kyosho Golds by a large margin. The ease of rebuilding, the consistently excellent damping action, the oil retention...I've opened several decades-old beat-up-looking Golds to find them still full of clean oil. I've rebuilt Platinums and I concur with Jeff on those. I was fortunate enough to get a s...

Re: Optima re-re parts compatibility
It is amazing how similar yet different the old Kyoshos vs the rere ones are. Kyosho spent some time and effort for sure to handle today's big power. IMO I would just rather have them just the way they were in the past.

Re: Thinking about dyno's for brushed motors
Finally got my rig up and running, sorta. My power supply did not like the inrush current demand of the 15T Trinity, so I grabbed a 6 cell pack that still had a little juice in it. I made a mounting plate from 1/8" lexan and put 3M pads on it, stays perfectly still. When I wired the speed contr...

Re: ** Build of the Month Contest - March 2021 ** - Winner - dinglem
Before we started I was sure that one of the Hotshots would beat mine so I had no expectation of winning but its still worth it if one wins !

Re: My racing days Hotshot replica hopefully
Went out for a little run in the road today in between rain :| now my road has a 90° corner 20 yards from my house so I usually just follow the car down to the corner and stand at the corner so I can see both ways , as I was following the car down I did some S sweeps like an F1 car warming its tires...

My blue GT
I just finished buttoning up the chassis. Body will be coming soon. I guess I could say I was inspired by scr8p/jconcepts EGT build. I was never a huge fan of colorful builds. But I thought the white parts against the blue chassis actually looked pretty good. Usually you only see the blue chassis tr...

“Race Clod”
Here’s the start of my first ever Clodbuster build. Really no clue how to build a monster truck and I don’t always like to build off of proven platforms so I’m going back to my old school crawler roots and scratch building as much as I can. Here’s the beginning of what I’ll be starting with. I have ...

Re: Hot Trick Blackfoot. What the...
Progress has really slowed down as I have been trying to figure out the final look and working on suspension problems. I have decided to really make this unmistakably a Monster Beetle..with the red body, decals and yellow CVA shocks. I already had a set of Beetle yellow CVAs which will work out grea...
