Re: More Hot, less Shot

For a true vintage experience, only run it with four bearings. Leave all the bushings in place. That'll make it even slower! Just like the good old days! :D

Re: More Hot, less Shot

Well, that's actually one of the few things I have upgraded, it has premium bearings. I'm sure any advantage is likely negated by the out of round gears, I fully expect it to sound like a wood chipper going down the straight

Re: So what did you get in the post today ???

I picked up a VW Beetle off Marketplace. It was a total impulse buy, NIB $100, close to home... This is my first Tamiya since buying the original Boomerang circa 1985. Tamiya bodies are incredible! Some chassis parts are made of cheese, others are made of higher quality cheese, some appear to ...

Re: My Vintage Schumacher Daytona Project...

So! Been hiding in the shadows for way to long. It's time to join the party. The Schumacher Daytona has been a dream car since the age of around 12. Firstly, love this Thread/car/project, have been watching it unfold for years. Always looking forward to any updates. The 15R's looking great (like eve...

Re: More Hot, less Shot

 That's awesome, I'll definitely take them and add them to my 80's racer kit if you don't want them. That's not a proper charge lead though is it? One of the wires should be a resistance wire. I wonder how they'd go charging a lipo ? Yep. It's real. Both leads are resistance wires....

Re: Trying to make a Tra**as SRT fast !

Many many thanks to Chris (1300GT) for machining up a set of aluminum axles for me. They fit much better than the crappy steel ones and shave off 7 grams. 20231028_085916.jpg Some pretty high end electronics going into it..... XR10 Pro 17.5 combo with Zombie 6000 Shorty 140c/280c and extra large cap...

Re: Picture of the day. (Taken by you)

Not today, but yesterday. Ol' lady took me on one of her 5 mile death marches. Scenery was decent though.

Re: So, what did you do RC today?

Modified the Optima's battery mounts to hold a shorty lipo properly. The Velcro straps weren't going to manage. To remove the battery just unscrew the thumbnut and remove the post and lipo. 1.jpg Also made and fitted 12 grams of brass weight to the Optima's nose. It's easy to remove if needed. 2.jpg

Re: Trying to make a Tra**as SRT fast !

Thanks guys, it doesn't look too bad. It will be fun to mix it with a few of the fast guys if I can make it that far up the list. Alex - don't be so sure about that.... You'll probably be lapping me. I still need to figure out gearing, timing, ESC programming and any bugs that arise with no prep tim...

Thanks. I wanted something different for my Classic so I copied the AYK Boost paint scheme and dyed the nylon parts orange and black.

Re: Trying to make a Tra**as SRT fast !

This has been a fantastic build! Thank you for bringing us on the journey with you. The SRT is one of my grail trucks, including in the factory works converted form but I found my other grail truck the storm 2000 which I need to get up and running With regards to gearing, I can try to help if you n...

Is this a state park? I ask because I am in Indiana, too, and might have to give it a visit. Clifty Falls is my go-to park since it is so close.
