Well, that's actually one of the few things I have upgraded, it has premium bearings. I'm sure any advantage is likely negated by the out of round gears, I fully expect it to sound like a wood chipper going down the straight

Many many thanks to Chris (1300GT) for machining up a set of aluminum axles for me. Not today, but yesterday. Ol' lady took me on one of her 5 mile death marches. Scenery was decent though.

Modified the Optima's battery mounts to hold a shorty lipo properly. The Velcro straps weren't going to manage. To remove the battery just unscrew the thumbnut and remove the post and lipo. 1.jpg Also made and fitted 12 grams of brass weight to the Optima's nose. It's easy to remove if needed. 2.jpg

Is this a state park? I ask because I am in Indiana, too, and might have to give it a visit. Clifty Falls is my go-to park since it is so close.
