I believe the different your seeing in photo is because the tub chassis itself is powder coated and the nose plates are anodized. The Nose plate and tube are both anodized. Its what Romulus22 says, Associated's anodizing was never consistent. If i had 50 blue anodized tub chassis they would be know...

Actually I believe I snagged that from one of the back issue scans of RCCA on gomachv site. Oh and thank you very much gomachv for saving them on your site for everyone ! I am always thumbing through them.

In the figure it shows to cut off the bead seat, stating tamiya and proline tires to be trimmed with hot shot tires being the exception.

This ones definitely an easy answer for me. It’s my scratch built Slash 2wd. Proline Pro2 chassis,RPM,and a couple traxxas parts. Ceramic bearings throughout. A Castle mamba max pro esc with a 2400kv 550 can. I run it on 4s with mod1 gearing and it is absolutely wicked fast and powerful ! Every time...

It’s been setup many ways since I built it years ago. At one point I had it setup for speed runs with a Mamba Monster, 2200kv 1/8 system running 6s on Jaco foams. Fastest it went was 88mph, nerve racking to say the least. Unfortunately my older 3s packs were holding it back.... should’ve done 100 !!...

Ended up changing out the aluminum front and rear shock towers for originals so as to fit under this beautiful box art Jconcepts original GT body painted by Andy.
