The head is bolted down and that holds the sleeve down.
It should fit pretty tight in the block though.
Does it look like the correct sleeve for the block ports wise ?

Soak them in a strong degreaser, chrome will come off.

Another method that has worked out well for me in the past when mounting a painted body and making the holes afterwards is to light it up from underneath with a bright light. It creates a dark spot where the post is touching that you then can mark on the outside.

If I could make a suggestion there is one paint job you rarely see done yet would be somewhat period correct…. This paint job spells America with a capital M for sure !

Yes the black 6 gear only motor plate would be correct for the TQ10.

@MarkyDents, did you ever get tires for these? I'm trying to get the 5 bean version of these Mini-Mags reproduced, would you mind if I used your excellent pics to show the machinist how it was done? Can I also use your pics for reference in my, RC Corvette The Dead Pool thread? Those rims are sweet...
