Re: Resale profit margin
Stick with what you are doing Dadio, and don't let the money-hungry a$$hats get to you! With your creations, you are personally saving vintage RC cars! And ultimately, whether the end user spent $20 or $80 for your creation, it may very well have saved a car from getting tossed in the bin or parted ...

Re: Pan Curious
I find 1/12 pan cars fascinating to build.... but completely impractical to actually run. Their simplicity is what attracts me, with a minimal amount of chassis parts (ie less $$$ replacement parts), but so much mass once electronics and such are brought into the picture, and it all needs ...

Re: GV (Great Vigor) Hunter 1:8 4WD Nitro Buggy?
If you "explode" the front end of this vehicle to its smallest pieces, there are just around 200 individual components in this front end. During the disassembly I realized that in both examples of the vehicles I have, the dogbones were painted to match the cage. The green of the CC motor l...

It took me close to a year of being on this forum before realizing the magic which this shop creates.

Re: GV (Great Vigor) Hunter 1:8 4WD Nitro Buggy?
What about something like the AE SC8 or nomad wheels n tires. Yea still sc rubber but you can keep the 17mm hexes. The problem is the wheel offset. Most SCs run super positive (almost flush to outside wheel), as compared to the about neutral offset of the stock Hunter wheels. To stick SC8 wheels on...

Re: Vintage rustler
You should pay what you are comfortable paying for it.
That is about as much of an answer as you are going to get here. This forum doesn't value rigs.

Scratching Off Another Desire Of My Youth: Clodbuster
There is a long story about me constantly begging a friend of mine to use or borrow his CB back when I was 14 or so, and him never doing it for the longest time. He never played with it, and it just sat there. Then a one point, he needed a favor from me, so I negotiated a deal and got his rig for th...

Re: What steering servos is everyone using?
I run the same Savox on any of my cars that will be run regularly. If it is going to sit on the shelf most of its life, it will probably get a Fut S148.
I would have to be a paid racer before I would think about a $200+ steering servo.

Re: Scratching Off Another Desire Of My Youth: Clodbuster
I knew I wanted the clod-busting guy on the truck somewhere, but I really didn't want to run the stock stickers on the doors. I also knew I didn't want to run the stock roll bar and lights, so I figured I needed to cover the bed with a tonneau cover. Figured that would be an okay place to put the bu...

Re: Scratching Off Another Desire Of My Youth: Clodbuster
While it's just a simple surface modeler, Sketchup can be incredibly versatile - especially if you're willing to invest the time needed to learn the software. Yea, I am a little like a musician that plays but never really got taught how to play my instrument! I would have far less time in learning ...

Re: Scratching Off Another Desire Of My Youth: Clodbuster
For some reason, every time I get into the final stretch of a build ..................... stupid work gets all busy like and I gotta do work! :( Oh well, finalized the planetary hub design and got the parts printed out. They function just fine, and pass the 2' visual test. IMO, they look 100 times b...
