Re: So what did you get in the post today ???

I don't have OCD, but my new HPI Super Stars are bothering me.

Re: So what did you get in the post today ???

Continuing this theme, I received my second set of Pargu wheels today, and while I was 110% satisfied with the first set that I got (Assault/Tomahawk), I am about 90% happy with these. The finish on these will just need a bit of work to make them great, but for the price, aluminum pan car wheels fro...

Re: So what did you get in the post today ???

My first black chassis Traxxas. These came out in '97, so it still qualifies as a 20th century RC.

Re: AE TF-10: An AE Top Fuel Hodge Podge

Have made a little progress lately, and although it has been a bit of two steps forward, one step back, I am good with it right now. :) The front wheels came out actually better than expected. I had pulled aside a new set of 12L wheels, but remembered how well old AE nylon hydrates, cleans up, and w...

Re: So what did you get in the post today ???

eBay seller had a five item "service parts" lot for Traxxas Fiero up for sale, and I offered him too little with "Make an Offer." Not only did he accept the offer, he sent extra parts! I literally have a dollar a bag in on this deal. Good to know there are still good folk...

Re: AE TF-10: An AE Top Fuel Hodge Podge

Thanks Kid! She is officially mechanically complete! Even put power on it and everything held it's smoke in! The Zeta ESC programming is pretty cool with all kinds of adjustability. Got the rear wing on which is a AE 7" wing, and the posts are AE also I think, 10LSS maybe? They saved a lot of t...

Re: So what did you get in the post today ???

For Christmas, I bought myself a RB10, without the RTR. I have about 26 minutes of internet research that makes me think this should work. Santa brought most of it quicker than expected, and tomorrow is a PTO day, so I will find out soon enough.

Building A RB10 From A DR10 Kit

The plan here was to build a kit form RB10. I am just not a RTR fan in general. I don't know the quality of the AE RTR electronics, but I tend to not trust RTR electronics usually. I like to be the one that torques things, adds the loc-tite and grease, and sands off the little nubs that are hitting ...

Re: Building A RB10 From A DR10 Kit

This has become a great way for me to avoid the responsible Christmas prep stuff I should be doing right now. :D So, the mechanical build is done expect the motor and ESC, which should come it today. Oh, and the front bumper, which should also be here soon. Not a lot of build pics because it is just...

Re: Building A RB10 From A DR10 Kit

I think I figured out the wing mounting situation. My cheap set of 3mm brass standoffs have saved me numerous times on all kinds of projects. There are not a lot of threads for the set screws on there, so their longevity is questionable, as the set screws will have to be screwed out / in / out / in ...

Re: Building A RB10 From A DR10 Kit

Seeing as this car was a Christmas gift to myself, it seemed fitting it finished up on Christmas Eve. :) One of the main goals in this build was to make a RB10 that didn't look like a RB10. In that regard, I think I was successful. I have a couple of loose ends to finish up, but it is 95% at this po...
