Your favorite ESC (with photo)
Share your favorite ESC from your collection vintage or contemporary. I'm not a collector, but in my quest for period-correct electronics I've come to appreciate them over the decades. ESC's never get reissued and there is something very timeless about them. Their technology made a big difference in...

Re: Your favorite ESC (with photo)
My Novak T-1X is the pride of my ESC collection. Other racers had better motors, better battery packs, peak chargers, PCM radios, faster buggies, and actual driving skills 🤣 but I had this bad mo fo T-1X in my Turbo Optima so I could run way better motors than I actually owned. With my previous Nova...

Re: Your favorite ESC (with photo)
If you're after home-made... check out this witchcraft before your very eyes then..... Ian Mullaney over in the UK has taken it upon himself to save space in his ProCAT for vintage class racing by building an esc into his chassis.... He just sent me the pics to post up on here. The guy is a ...

Hello from Scotland.
Finally posting on this forum after just recently joining. I am not new to rc cars however you could say like a lot of us I’ve had an extend break from the hobby. I collected and read rc car magazines and catalogues religiously in the 90’s. As like any youngster I could only dream having one of thes...

Re: So what did you get in the post today ???
I finally found the motor I've wanted for over 30yrs at a decent price.
. .
It came with a really nice, well cared for T2 attached, but that was ok with me. The T2s are some really cool trucks.

Buying spree at old hobby shop going out of biz
While driving to a national park in CA, I saw a hobby shop in an old part of town. What the heck…I turned around just for a quick look. They were going out of business and were traxxas and crafts focused. Looking more closely, I saw tucked away in the corner of a glass case containing vintage team a...

Re: TRC Lynx II - back to street duty
A little progress today. I decided to use a spare Associated rear axle and hubs vs the stock TRC. The diff side hub on the Associated seems a bit stronger and less likely to bend on impact. I thought I would go ahead and polish the aluminum parts for extra shine😎. To clean the magnesium crossbar I u...

Re: Hyperdrive H10 super glue special
Thought I would update this build. I wasn't happy with the messed up threads on the axle so I thought, "Hey, I'll take another crack at it" and make a new one. IMG_20220313_193022.jpg I took some carbon rod and carefully drilled and tapped one end with a simple drill press jig I had made. ...

Technology "Firsts" in the RC industry (with pictures)
For those interested in the engineering and history aspects of the RC industry. Which vehicles were the first to pioneer and introduce various technologies in the RC industry? Perhaps we can limit this thread to mechanical advancements (as opposed to electrical). If there are accurate corrections gi...

Re: MCI motor labels
Nathaniel said he'd make some adjustments in his next batch of Twister labels, and he'd include the new version in my next order. Seems reasonable to me.

Vintage AE's A&L Trailing Arm RC10
I feel like noobe all over again. I started this build years ago when painting an extra body I had lying around. After sitting on it awhile I've finally decided to pull the trigger on the A&L chassis kit. I opted for the 4 hole front tower and fiberglass chassis. There will be some waiting on se...

Re: Vintage AE's A&L Trailing Arm RC10
Chassis would need to have two holes drilled out, a longer trans brace, and you would need to modify the rear bumper. They trans and the chassis were different eras, and were not really used together. That said I have built quite a few c2 with lethal weapon.
