The cuts on the material are made at 45⁰. The layup of g10 is 0⁰ or sometimes 0⁰ 90⁰ so by cutting it from the material at a 45⁰ angle you are changing the way the material flexes.

The hobby isn't the same as it was in the late 80's and 90's. It has become way more corporate and lost the magic that it once had. I'm just glad I grew up in the hobby when I did.

Long story short my old power supply from 2007 had non backlit meters, I always wanted to backlight them even from new. With my new dirt cheap charger needing a P/S I thought now's the time.
