Re: Special Project Codename EF209 - RC 1/12 pancar
The work is not over, yet : I still need to take care of the driver and the mirrors... And as well, finish the electronics installation (not yet done on this chassis). https://i.imgur.com/DWzRC9m.jpeg https://i.imgur.com/9BF0T9C.jpeg https://i.imgur.com/9JTJbG3.jpeg https://i.imgur.com/9b04Bsq.jpeg ...

Re: Special Project Codename EF209 - RC 1/12 pancar
1/12 driver is so small... I decided to cheat as I did not want to paint the face... The body is a Hunter driver body scaled 80% and the the helmet is the one I did for the Super Wheelie, scaled smaller than 80%... Not sure how much I scale it down, but it is small. https://i.imgur.com/aRhy159.jpeg ...

Re: So what did you get in the post today ???
I was watching 2 unusual Checkpoint motors and ended up with one of them. Hopefully someone here got the other and posts up what a gem it is so I can really kick myself for missing it.
This is an oldie but a goodie. It even runs well.

Starting my RC10L rebuild
I've finally started working on my old RC10L graphite car. It sat in a box for about 30 years and then got a quick run last June using 30 year old Ni-Cads that were still taped onto the chassis which ended with the left rear hub getting loose. During my RC10 Graphite rebuild I damaged the servo save...

My top RC racing achievement of my youth @ 1990 ROAR Nationals
So the last official RC race I ever participated in was at the ROAR Nationals in 1990 at the Hobby Haven Livermore Raceway in CA. I was in 6th grade, my brother drove me to the event. I wanted to be contrarian and got an ass kicking racing my Tamiya Egress. I disliked the fact everyone had an RC10 a...

Re: My top RC racing achievement of my youth @ 1990 ROAR Nationals
I have to confess there were less than five buggies in the F Main (crap might have been three but you all don't know) So a third place finish was a mighty achievement. I recall buying the exact pin tires Cliff Lett used at the local hobby shop...believing I could. The belief / irrational confidence ...

Custom Fabricated Train - Serious Machine work
This is a photo from left to right of Mr & Mrs Ed Sholl, and my Grandparents Bob & Mary Schenk. Ed and Bob were both career machinists. I took the photo in 1984 where I introduced my Grandparents to Ed and his wife. Ed originally started to build this train when raising his son. Unfortunatel...

Re: Custom Fabricated Train - Serious Machine work
Here is another photo of just the train. Here’s a paragraph from the Bordentown NJ Alumni: Mr. Sholl’s true passion, however, was as a rail and model enthusiast. His classic Victorian home was jammed with his hobby craft-wall displays of model cars, fire trucks and toy trains, and a half-dozen mast ...

Re: Special Project Codename EF209 - RC 1/12 pancar
I spend some time over the week-end to work on this bodyshell... It's not perfect yet and still requires some minor improvements... I finished the part under the bodyshell... https://i.imgur.com/itgspBk.jpeg As last time, I printed something to help the arch cut at the rear (on the front it is not n...

Re: ** Build of the Month Contest - April 2025 ** - Winner - GrePo
Black rims. Black cells. Black soul? Sure. Since The Fall Of Old Tekin / Kevin Orton Story is my favorite thread, I wanted to build a RC that pays homage to K.O. I wish he would see my build and enjoy it. For those wo don't know it: https://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?t=22700 I find myself in som...

MG Exterminator motor cleanup
This motor was filthy inside and out, had crusty old tape wrapped around the outside, and had a partially collapsed brush hood. The tape came off easily (adhesive was dried out) and it protected the decal well. . 1000015241.jpg . The armature has welded commutator and epoxy balancing. The end bell i...

Purge Force mach 7 by Noel Lovisa
There are almost no pictures of this rare device on the net. If someone owns one today, I would be happy to see a recent photo of it. The scanned material is from 1991.
