Re: So what did you get in the post today ???

Starting out the new year 1X better than last year. I've missed out on a few nice Novak 1X units but this one was right condition, right price and just needs a replacement power switch added. I can take care of that.

Re: ** Build of the Month Contest - January 2024 ** - Winner - coxbros1

I feel like an RC10CC will be the right way to start the year.

RC10CC GFG Coffin Race Replica

This build started with a standard RC10CC, a banana'd nose plate, and a worn B stamp chassis. . PXL_20231209_200023047.jpg . Screenshot_20240107-164607.png . PXL_20240105_210854028.jpg . Some nicer additions were included, such as custom Factory Works chassis, shock towers, Thorp 48 pitch gears, Ari...

Re: RC10CC GFG Coffin Race Replica

Chassis buildup started pretty uneventfully. The clear parts don't inspire the same sense of strength that the OG nylon did, so I decided I'd tap that, and that, and that, etc during the build (actual tapping 🤣) to avoid overstressing parts. Probably mostly unnecessary, but it was interesting to be ...

Re: RC10CC GFG Coffin Race Replica

Eventually I got to the gearbox. The RC10CC top shaft already had the gear on it and it wasn't clear if it was on a taper and could be separated, so I grabbed a vintage top shaft for the Thorp 48 pitch gearbox build. I also did the outdrive bearing mod because that just seems like how outdrives shou...

Re: RC10CC GFG Coffin Race Replica

The shock builds and top plate installation went fine. I'm not great at bleeding shocks, but I make a great mess trying. For the battery cup, my green fiberglass strap ended up being a better fit with the top plate. . PXL_20240107_044916669.jpg . PXL_20240107_054229011~2.jpg . After that, it was tim...

Re: RC10CC GFG Coffin Race Replica

This also seemed like the right place for a body I had a friend paint a couple of months ago. The colors weren't a good match with the intended buggy, but I think this is the right buggy. I also added a homemade wing because I like wings. . PXL_20240107_223856551.jpg . PXL_20240107_223122890.jpg . P...

Re: Became a first time Dad

Congratulations!

Infants sometimes accidentally scratch themselves with their fingernails. A pair of baby socks over the hands takes care of that pretty well.

Unscented baby wipes and A&D gel do a good job preventing and recovering from diaper rash.

Re: Question regarding parts integrity

That's normal and ok. The nylon in the rear arm mount is very thin where the hinge pin hole and the dogbone clearance cove meet. Some people trim that to fully expose the pin and make it look neater, some leave it just like that. However for part integrity you should rehydrate your nylon parts if it...

... your pan car chassis is so rad it hurts to look directly at it.
His pan car has me thinking about making something similar, but based on a 12L chassis. He has done a really cool build 👍
