Re: RC Top Faux CAT 10
I decided the angled mounting of the steering servo probably needed an extra bellcrank to change direction. Just enough clearance to the shock and the mount hardware, and everything moves nicely. It ended up working really well. Over the full steering and shock compression range everything slips by ...

Re: RC Top Faux CAT 10
I did have one other detail to take of. The trailing arms I'm using had been bored out to fit Ultima metric bearings. I modified them back to RC10 bearing size. It ended up being as simple as X, Y, sleeve. . 1000009680.jpg . I hand twisted the X drill bit through, cutting out a shallow amount, repea...

Re: Favorite tools
I hate not having the right size drill bit, so my family took pity on me this past Christmas and got me a set of letter and number coded drill bits. It is amazing how much less frustrating it it when you have the perfect drill bit size. These do not replace the regular fractional sizes, just fill in...

Re: Lexan Body Trimming - Scissors or Sharp Blade?
When scoring with a blade, I hate having to go over the same line multiple times. I will always end up missing of jumping the original score line. Unless I find a thin spot and go straight through by accident. 😑 I definitely have to trim before painting, as well as add the body mount holes. Otherwis...

Re: Tweaking The Mystery Machine
The brackets for the front lower shock mounts worked out well. For the upper brace, I modified the ends to have hex pockets for the shock stud nuts. Both solved the front end build problems and the front suspension moves in a normal, predictable manner. The steering throw with the bigger servo saver...

Re: Tweaking The Mystery Machine
It's a much improved runner and a satisfying basher. The steering is good, the wheelies are not overpowering and have sort of turned into a sprinter/chock style launch, and overall it's a lot more stable. I think it's pretty much done, at least until some way to better control the gearbox pivot come...

Re: Mid Motor Rustler - V2
Of course you didn't break anything, you're doing a quality job racing out there! It takes some whacks to break stuff.

Re: Frankenbuggy '91 B1.75 Detroit-ish Worlds Buggy
I reprinted the custom parts in a material that has a natural nylon color instead of starting as a transparent nylon. This material also seems to have similar properties to the nylon that was used for RC10 parts. Rebuilding is mostly done. Just need to swap new outdrives into the diff assembly and w...

Re: RC10 Composite Craft Worlds build #2
So much RPM goodness :D Sure is a strange looking one piece center link 8) I can’t imagine the level of anxiety when it comes time to start grinding away on the trans case and arm mounts…. Yes, lovely pieces of plastic. So strange. Lol I have actually traded my RPM center link as I decided to go a ...

I see a lot of spray paint cans there. We're going to need to see your ID to make sure you are 18 or older.
