Re: Bormac's Nichimo Midships 443 WDS - An unexpected project
Oh yeah, thanks for that. I guess it's meant to provide resistance (limited slip?) but it appears the amount of resistance would vary as the pinion rotates and spreads the plates. Sorta like a detent. Apparently, there's a lot about center diffs that I don't understand. Yeah, even with the video, t...

Re: Bormac's Nichimo Midships 443 WDS - An unexpected project
Added knuckles assemblies within the rear gearbox https://i.imgur.com/Dgqlm1Z.jpg Once that was done, I went to the chassis to add the propeller shaft. I had a doubt on the full chassis dimensions but I think i'm not in bad shape :) https://i.imgur.com/rYPzyFo.jpg Transmission is now complete... (I'...

Re: Bormac's Nichimo Midships 443 WDS - An unexpected project
Progressing small step by small steps... Had to add the motor on the gearbox to build the cooler component... It's presently with a 15T pinion (there is 2 other positions for 12T and 18T pinions - I'll talk about it later :) ). https://i.imgur.com/AnenLMa.jpg While at it, I checked the pinion was li...

Re: Bormac's Nichimo Midships 443 WDS - An unexpected project
This morning, I started by using the slicer to prepare a set of test print and launched a print of the motor plate. The first test I did last week was non conclusive as the PLA was probably affected by storage issue. I had the dryer running all afternoon yesterday before I run some night prints, and...

Re: Bormac's Nichimo Midships 443 WDS - An unexpected project
I did not took pictures during the test of the rear gearbox. I spoted instantaneously 2 big mistakes and one smaller: - the top of the gearbox was off of 1.5 millimeter, which explain partly my rear input rod issue colliding the top chassis - the rear extension that aims to fix the roll cage was off...

Re: Bormac's Nichimo Midships 443 WDS - An unexpected project
Second 23 hours print of this project, I really want to make sure my dims are right before I can send the car and parts back to Jason. This time it is much better https://i.imgur.com/FtX9IY8.jpg And I put the gearbox in the chassis with the propeller shaft to make sure about everything... It fits :)...

Re: A new project - Nichimo Spirit FF - The first of a kind
They are 3 parts... But I did something wrong with the model at that time : I was not thinking printing, and I probably worked too fast, and forget an extrusion on the two parts that goes around the ball and snap in the chassis : it's missing a bit of material, and therefore, the nylon is too flexib...

The track: https://i.imgur.com/gPyhj9I.jpg https://i.imgur.com/4QvAGum.jpg As you can see, this is the typical track you would find here back in the eighties (the club in Belley is mainly targeted for leisure off road). There is also an onroad track (asphalt pacman type). I did not have the M06 with...

Kyosho 30635 - Fantom EP-4WD
Today, I started something... For the small story, I had a Kyosho 1/12 back in the eighties, it was 4WD, there was a chain, and a one way at the front, and a prototype body... I did not have a proper place to run it at that time, so it was sold almost once build, and I did not really run it. When I ...

Re: Kyosho 30635 - Fantom EP-4WD
There is things that disturbs me in the layout of this car: - the chain rubbing on the radio plate - the risk of the ESC power plug going to mess with the chain - in the case you use Lipo battery, the risk of having the balance connector messing either with the ground or the chain... I had to do som...

Re: Hirobo Bearcat SS - Let's start something else...
Got the car almost tore down to parts today... Some bad surprises, it seems that the car was not stored properly and rust made some bad things... It started yesterday with the right front wheel. Today, I decided to retry differently, and it did not happen well. https://i.imgur.com/zELvGsh.jpg I gues...

Re: Kyosho 30635 - Fantom EP-4WD
My friends tend to take their car on the track at night during the vintage events... I have one planed early July, so I need to do something for this so I can actually run my Fantom at night... But I wanted something not attached to the body shell, as I need to refix them often on the cars where I d...

Some issue with an expected delivery, and I can't do what was planned today... Therefore, took at suspension components from the Hirobo, and check for the symmetries... https://i.imgur.com/wUsX3dT.jpg I focus on plastic part first, which explain why there is no tie rods. I started by the rear... Arm...

Re: Hirobo Bearcat SS - Let's start something else...
Still working on the front train... King Pins are very easy to model... https://i.imgur.com/9r30voz.jpg Then comes the knuckles, and let's be clear, this is likely the most complex car to model on this car The part holding the pivot ball is angled, but while the angle is easy to define (same as the ...

Re: Bormac's Nichimo Midships 443 WDS - An unexpected project
The roll cage parts are quite long, and they may be too long for a viable 3Dprint. I'll check this.
As for the files, I'm not finished yet, as there is still some ongoing work, but I'll publish them at some point (I'm not sure when yet). Keep watching this thread
