Re: Hirobo Rockn City - rhyming slang or refurb.
Did a quick exchange of the chassis plate for a GRP one I got off eBay a while ago. Body shell still "an issue" as I don't see much I like better than the modern cheapo as per earlier pics. Maybe a kyosho Optima? Which could also go on the GV Beagle. I'm already thinking 44B on my side, a...

Re: Hirobo Rockn City - rhyming slang or refurb.
As said in the postman thread, I have already some 44B parts... https://i.imgur.com/6EOkw7m.jpg Normally I should start a thread for this, but I also said I won't create it until I start to tear down the Zerda I could not let you wait, so... Started to model what I have, as it won't be a lost job in...

Re: Another Marui project - Ninja/Shogun
Went with the printed rims to a friend's place today. He pulled his red Ninja, took some Tamiya oval blocs and put them on the car on one of the sides. https://i.imgur.com/26o1zhz.jpg https://i.imgur.com/JBhnQKe.jpg The fit is perfect, I'm very happy with the result, and he is happy with the rims...

Hirobo 44Bs and Zerda :)
Hi It's definitely time to start a new thread today. Not that the Bearcat SS is finished (it will be soon), but because now I have started some work on the 44Bs and Zerda chassis. I'm very happy as I like to work on car with chassis variants simultaneously... let's recap first what we have. First a ...

Re: Hirobo 44Bs and Zerda :)
Now that the elements are introduced, let's kick it. threesheds provided me tire dimensions, so I modeled the 44B tire https://i.imgur.com/ltpNFyC.jpg https://i.imgur.com/PBxtagT.jpg https://i.imgur.com/krCIU4o.jpg https://i.imgur.com/kWGDs5e.jpg The tires of the Hilux are original and in pretty bad...

Re: Hirobo 44Bs and Zerda :)
I'll model both 44B version and the one from the Zerda (I have it in a part bag, that came with the Zerda wheels). I may be able to model it quite quickly, as I don't need to tear down a car to do it... Watch this space

Re: Hirobo 44Bs and Zerda :)
Well, I just put one detailed picture of the Zerda at this stage... I'm not even talking about the metal bent out of the box and far too easy to unbent or bent in other dimesions than the original bent :-) They would have made this part within elastomers, I'm not sure it would be that different :-) ...

Re: Hirobo 44Bs and Zerda :)
Those rear gearbox sides are a very complicated shape , it took me several attempts to get it to match and align with an original , yours is looking good . I always start by some dimensions i'm 100% sure about. The shape is indeed complex, but once you put add geometry constraints in this (circle d...

Re: Hirobo 44Bs and Zerda :)
Gearboxes being done, I thought it woulb be worth to put the parts together and to do some dimensional checks. https://i.imgur.com/wlTNFlu.jpg https://i.imgur.com/hPcuhSt.jpg https://i.imgur.com/s3YzPLM.jpg The check was quite efficient to spot the mistake : bath tub position was 1mm off, and rear s...

Re: Hirobo 44Bs and Zerda :)
It's all looking good there Mark , the front knuckles are another weak spot , the steering arm snaps off the knuckle , again the later Alien Mid and Invader have a substantially reinforced arm on the knuckles , if your putting this on Thingiverse etc then it might be good to offer a reinforced vers...

Re: Hirobo Bearcat SS - Let's start something else...
Trimed the driver, put new tires on, change the rods that where too short... And it looks almost new https://i.imgur.com/BTZwetm.jpg https://i.imgur.com/DLnhhyZ.jpg https://i.imgur.com/Blj4QrI.jpg https://i.imgur.com/hDEmAeY.jpg I still need to connect the motor, to paint the driver figure and add s...

Re: Hirobo 44Bs and Zerda :)
CT90 belt cover offered up to 44b . Would fit with careful trimming Screenshot_20221107-113237.png Thanks for that picture, that confirms it is possible, like on the Zerda, and as well the explanation you gave on Facebook seems totally plausible... I asked many of my friends around, and no one have...

Today, I started by reviewing the bath tub. I reveiewed the profile differently, and the sheel worked this time... https://i.imgur.com/7z0eY5J.jpg And now, it participate to the protection of the belt https://i.imgur.com/9SKoJmw.jpg While at it, I also tackled the rear belt cover. It's a very simple...

Re: Hirobo 44Bs and Zerda :)
Today, started to deal with the upper arms... https://i.imgur.com/x2Fv65u.jpg That was quite easy. I did one, and did some copy paste with amendments of the rears' length. Next was about the steering rods. one of the pivot ball is on the side, as I did not search the servo to add in the bathtub http...
