Re: Bormac's Nichimo Midships 443 WDS - An unexpected project
I know that selling parts installed to repair a car is part of this... However, one should keep the origin of the files known and the author credited : that's what they agreed when they download the parts under creative common - non commercial files... I had myself the question about sharing files o...

Re: Hirobo 44Bs and Zerda :)
The work I did yesterday for the 44B Racing Baja bodyshell made me think a lot last night: the LWB chassis has a lot of options in terms of bodyshells... For the SWB, there is not much... We could eventually rely on a a M chassis body for 210MM wheelbase, but the winch would not work with it... Had ...

Re: Hirobo 44Bs and Zerda :)
I have solution without printing requirements for the MXL pulleys thanks to some indications on search terms found on ebay: I found on ebay using "mxl14T timing belt pulley" search terms. One have 14T-60T, with different bores that makes the job and that should cover all the possible requi...

Re: Hirobo 44Bs and Zerda :)
Look at the points where the halves meet. It appears that you have male pins on both parts at the top and female on the bottom of both. It's on purpose : it's different bodies... Those are the centering plots, I've used end as cutting tools to remove the opposite in the bodies, each halves is indep...

Re: Hirobo Zerda: from wreck to runner
The final chapter on the tamiya axle,12mmhex, double bearing conversion. After an eBay seller sent the wrong size flange head screws.... Everything fits nicely with Dadio's axle holder adapter. A lot of bearing jiggle removed. Still a bit of jiggle, some related to wear in the suspension arms and p...

Re: Another Marui project - Ninja/Shogun
Today's printing test has two objectives: confirm lettering would work. I'm printing this test in 0.2mm per layer. There should be a way to do better than this... And it should work. https://i.imgur.com/6jb09kd.jpg Next objective is to make sure spikes can print properly as there is bridges and no ...

Re: Hirobo 44Bs and Zerda :)
With a full surface definition for the main body, it was very easy to pull a model for the windows body... I used a new copy of my bodyshell and removed everything except the surfaces definition in the timeline. Then I applied an offset to make it smaller, and used that to generate the body fo rthe ...

Re: Another Marui project - Ninja/Shogun
Spent some time in Fusion 360 to review my mould definition to include some air valve to ease the demould process and to include centering plots to make sure all my parts are properly centering. I used colored apparence to ease the feature recognition : red for centering features (8 of them), blue f...

Re: Hirobo 44Bs and Zerda :)
The Racing Baja Body required a bit more of Surface modeling love... I defined the body using this mode this time.... https://i.imgur.com/c3LUHeO.jpg I used thicken command many time in order to make sure it would work https://i.imgur.com/lADOVBC.jpg At the end is here a new bodyshell :-) https://i....

Re: So what did you get in the post today ???
I really need to remove Marui from my search terms... A Ninja arrived today, with its box. https://i.imgur.com/SWp6YDB.jpg https://i.imgur.com/qR68VW9.jpg A very quick inspection show a very little use (chassis is almost new and both arms, chassis and battery door are like new). It's complete, the w...

Again another Marui project : Super Wheelie and Big Bear!
Initially, when I got my two 44B chassis, I was at my friend's place to get 2 cars I had a deal on since few months... The first one is a Super Wheelie (7.2V, not the early version), with a Toytoa Land Cruiser body https://i.imgur.com/YhYYVI8.jpg The second one is a Big Bear, with Lunchbox wheels (u...

Re: Again another Marui project : Super Wheelie and Big Bear!
The chassis is quite simple compared to most of the chassis I dealt with earlier on. 2 sketches, few extrusions and a shell, and we get the front idea already in. https://i.imgur.com/glof8fb.jpg Then we have to do some cuts https://i.imgur.com/7I5Iqn4.jpg After that, I added the rear battery support...
