Re: Marui Hunter - My first buggy... Found one to restore :-) - and a Galaxy RS too :)
I did not advance much today... Just built a mould for the prototype bodyshell... https://i.imgur.com/jVDE8Xy.jpeg And out of curiosity, I tried to see if it is printable within the 256x256x256 mm of the Bambu Lab X1C https://i.imgur.com/7hVWazg.jpeg Yeah... Technically possible, but I guess this wi...

Re: Marui Hunter - My first buggy... Found one to restore :-) - and a Galaxy RS too :)
I did some splits and tried to make them in the smartest possible way considering what I'm trying to acheive... The side pods requires to be removed at the end, so they will be separated at the seam line between the main body and the side pods, making the split less visible in the vacformed body (ho...

Re: Marui Hunter - My first buggy... Found one to restore :-) - and a Galaxy RS too :)
I modified some bits of the moulds - removing some useless material, and making sure we can print this sitting on a flat face while ensuring nice finish all along the areas in contact with the vacformed sheet... https://i.imgur.com/DYvfIkg.jpeg https://i.imgur.com/DvrBDa5.jpeg Some supports will be ...

Re: Marui Hunter - My first buggy... Found one to restore :-) - and a Galaxy RS too :)
Worked out a 4 part chassis, or 3 parts considering the last one is an addon... https://i.imgur.com/xuwbgyJ.jpeg And that should print on one single plate in 8 hours on my X1C (PLA - it would be longer with PETG or ABS)... https://i.imgur.com/Fii33EB.jpeg The way I broke down the chassis was basical...

I love your rendering work, though...very impressive. I wish I could do that. 8) Thanks :-). Let's remember here that 2 years and a few months back, I did start working on this. You may have a look at my Nichimo Spirit FF thread, as for me, this was just the start of this. Rendering is just an addi...

Re: So what did you get in the post today ???
Something arrived today while I'm wrapping up the CAD work of the Hunter / Galaxy project... Marui Hunter 1/32 https://i.imgur.com/BpbX2Ut.jpeg That thing is really tiny... https://i.imgur.com/CX5Zsst.jpeg Well, can I really wrap up my Hunter project without taking care of this tiny guy? It seems we...

Re: Marui Hunter - My first buggy... Found one to restore :-) - and a Galaxy RS too :)
Another solution to the gears is to just cheat monstrously and find a 1/18th scale car and buy the gears for it and adapt the mini Hunter as needed , that way you can publish the required parts with the STL files , there are a ton of cheap 1/18th cars on the market and I'm sure a little research sh...

I may have gone a bit too far regarding Hunter parts testing... https://i.imgur.com/L5mY0OT.jpeg https://i.imgur.com/1p4BHa9.jpeg Even though I ordered powder based process prints, this is not at loss : The idea is really to show that FDM printing is possible and it will allow me to show how the fin...

Re: Hirobo 44Bs and Zerda :)
The red bodyshell from the second Hilux was sent to my friend at Loisirs Creations RC so he can do a reproduction of it... He made a mold from it and few weeks ago he sent me a picture he published also on facebook while he was adjusting the depressions here and there to make it work... Few days ago...

Re: Hirobo 44Bs and Zerda :)
Now that I have the insurance to have bodyshell for this car, the next is to make sure I can pull parts easily (specially the one which tends to break easily). The way the design is done does not make room for many possibilities to split and fix splitted parts... This ran in my head for a few weeks....

Re: Again another Marui project : Super Wheelie and Big Bear!
My friend Johann told me yesterday he was trying to print the Mitsubishi Jeep bodyshell using his FDM printer. He did some vertical cut at the front and the rear, and this morning he sent me the results. The main part was oriented 45° from the bed, and the result are quite good. but to me the front ...

Re: Again another Marui project : Super Wheelie and Big Bear!
I have no intention to let anyone wait more about the results... The spare wheel is cracked out of the box (i'll include a picture later of the box) but this is not too much of a concern... https://i.imgur.com/7jZxZo4.jpeg I quickly remove the supports... https://i.imgur.com/KobhHU1.jpeg And proceed...
