Re: 2014 Kyosho Beetle
The window decals are terrible on this model. They bubble up and always have a filmy coated look to them. https://i.imgur.com/bn27fo4.jpg I put a heat gun on them and they blistered and shrunk, didn't behave like Tamiya decals for me. https://i.imgur.com/OJkVnmD.jpg Even without a heat gun, the vie...

Re: Tamiya Tyrrell P34 6-Wheeler - 1977 Argentine GP - 2022 Reissue
just in case it is usefull to someone... here is the picture of the visor before I used the reamer to put the holes on it (to be done after defining where you have to put them). https://i.imgur.com/NMOT3gn.jpeg Last, once position is set, a drill bit of 1.2 mm have been used to set the holes in the ...

Re: SilverTriple's printing stuff...
My wife asked me if I could do some tick removers for the poney club... I found one on Printables ( https://www.printables.com/model/153838-tick-remover ). It is easy to print, and my wife used a few already succesfully. I reworked it to include the poney club logo and a hole to be able to fix it to...

Re: Another Marui project - Ninja/Shogun
I think I totally forgot to mention here that I got lucky to find a Shogun with its box in much better state than the first one a few months ago... https://i.imgur.com/XPhVlYr.jpeg The bodyshell is in good state, but it certainly needs a new paintjob: the paint is leaving by flakes here and there, s...

Re: Another Marui project - Ninja/Shogun
A good days work , I have a love/hate relationship with body painting. This is exactly the term to use : love/hate relationship :-) And while I have a lot of things to help with the Silhouette Cameo 4, the Thunderbird Coors is complex if you want to make it right... And while I tend to move away mo...

Re: Another Marui project - Ninja/Shogun
It took the whole afternoon... I set everything in the table so I have reference points... https://i.imgur.com/CGwLi9Z.jpeg I first used the copier to laid some key stickers on the side to understand where to put the lines. The other body on the table is an original one, and it is slightly bigger, s...

Re: Another Marui project - Ninja/Shogun
That Coors T-Bird body looks fantastic. I'm not a fan of the Shogun box-art though. The silver and gold just don't seem to go well together. Well, to be honest, black and gold might be enough and better, actually, and very JPS inspired :) (that's the plan if I succeed to save the original body) Tod...

Re: Another Marui project - Ninja/Shogun
Thanks guys! You know, when I was 14, I did not succeed to do this properly... Then way later, I found a trick... Generally, I would use masking tape for the external side of the helmet. Generally I mask the face, and use spray paint to do this. Here it is more complex, because of the mask Bill have...

Re: Another Marui project - Ninja/Shogun
Bill Elliot sits now proudly on the Marui chassis https://i.imgur.com/ywkG64b.jpeg https://i.imgur.com/bxOgdoA.jpeg At this stage, this chassis has no electronics, the runner is not going to be this one... I did add a few details to the bodyshell using some trim line applied inside the bodyshell... ...

Re: Another Marui project - Ninja/Shogun
I did put the Shogun driver figure and bodyshell on the chassis. I've not done any work on this chassis yet, it's not clean, but there is a very good basis for nice restoration (I have a plan for a Shogun runner beside this one: this one has been lightly ran, and is in pretty good shape, at the exce...

Re: Printed gears question
One thing to precise about stainless steel printed gears : due to the nature of the process, it's a bit random in the way it works, I noticed that dimensionnal accuracy depends of the geometry and some gears may need to be undesized while other may just be fine as per their initial specifications...

Re: Again another Marui project : Super Wheelie and Big Bear!
I have quite a few Super Wheelies and Big Bear here awaiting for some restoration. However, my first priority is to get a white Toyota and a white CJ-7 ready as soon as possible to be able to make the single picture with all the Marui cars, including the Mitsubishi Jeep... The black CJ-7 and blue La...

Re: So, what did you do RC today?
Today, beside painting few Super Wheelie bodies, I admired my son at work... Each time his paintjobs are getting nicer and sharper. I'm a very proud dad
