Special Project Codename EF209 - RC 1/12 pancar

Hello, I did a few buggies in CAD, I did reinvent some partially... Next year the first event of the year I intend to attend is going to span over 4 days early May (8th-11th), and the thematic of the event is "Creation and System D". I'm not sure how it would translate in English, but basi...

Re: Hirobo 44Bs and Zerda :)

My 44B-LWB chassis plate was 1mm to short... 336 instead of 337. I noticed that when making supports for my 44Bs. The radio box was therefore having a mm issue somewhere... The fact is : most of my parts relied on that single chassis plate. Move the rear of the chassis plate and all goes with it: de...

Re: Hirobo 44Bs and Zerda :)

Few test prints done... https://i.imgur.com/rtrLqsE.jpeg The chassis splitted is printed as well https://i.imgur.com/W1ceoZ2.jpeg I did some checks and it looks good. https://i.imgur.com/qZboGJj.jpeg I had not much doubts on the holes positions, as they were already corresponding to the belt cover.....

Re: QIDI Plus4 - 3D Printer

You may start playing with some settings in the slicer and ajust the distance between the support surface and the suppported face: it is often material dependant as per my experience. Default settings is likely 0.2mm : the less the distance is, the more difficult it is to remove the support. The mor...

Re: QIDI Plus4 - 3D Printer

Which support type do you use, for the best results? I generally use Tree supports... But tree supports can be hard sometimes : everything needs to be in perfect state for it work : filament extrusion properly calibrated, bed perfectly clean, and filament perfectly dry (sometimes, even with a new r...

Re: Special Project Codename EF209 - RC 1/12 pancar

The Hirobo project gets closer to print order. I've decided to draw some parts for this project... The support of the rear left wheel, and the nut... https://i.imgur.com/t47XIch.jpeg I needed to check that my thread is working fine, so I did a test print (have some ideas to play with regarding the w...

Re: Special Project Codename EF209 - RC 1/12 pancar

I decided to figure out the overall position taken by the motor pod on my shaft https://i.imgur.com/vyruJvC.jpeg The plan is quite simple actually : Bring in a differential design I know being tested and validated on one of my cars (spoiler : many :-) ), one I have already the design in Fusion360 : ...

Re: Special Project Codename EF209 - RC 1/12 pancar

Tonight, the program is to deal with the differential and as well with the right wheel carrier... I first made the wheel carrier, which is an hex with a thread at the end and two ball bearings : one going at the end of the shaft and the other one going on the shaft. Then I brought in the diff compon...

Re: Special Project Codename EF209 - RC 1/12 pancar

Before anything else, I decided to print a differential to check everything was fine in the design. https://i.imgur.com/bQUyuZR.jpeg The diff works, and it is no surprise... https://i.imgur.com/5KXRGfH.jpeg I did an adjustment on the wheel carrier (I could have done it somewhere else, but this was w...

Re: QIDI Plus4 - 3D Printer

Nothing I could find, would load those Knight Customs Prusa G-codes that were provided. Personnally, I would not load a G-Code made by someone else into my machine, and this even if it was designed for my machine. There is some aspects you can't anticipate, because they are filament dependent and e...

Re: Special Project Codename EF209 - RC 1/12 pancar

Motor pod is mostly easy... I did target pinion range between 14T and 27T (48dp), and made slots accordingly so we can position the motor for this. The reference point is the single hole, and I may adjust the position later on as everything is depending upon the position of this hole and the rear ax...

Re: Special Project Codename EF209 - RC 1/12 pancar

I started the front to create a derived part from the rear right wheel carrier... Then I set the upright from there. I could have done something different with bearings inserted in the wheels, but this way, I can just do a simple design working for both front and right and giving the possibility to ...
