Re: So what did you get in the post today ???
Jason is a great guy, well known around these parts but doesn’t frequent the boards here like the old days. Can’t wait to see the midships! I have a Pegasus/Exceed stuffed away but I always preferred the cage look.

Re: So what did you get in the post today ???
Last, I got advised by a cool Australian guy that I have a package to fetch somewhere nearby... He told me : it's going to be amazing or a nightmare. I'll fetch that at the end of my day, check the content and report the long story if it is what I hope it is :-) First it is A M A Z I N G ! :D I sti...

Re: Bormac's Nichimo Midships 443 WDS - An unexpected project
Bormac's going to be saved a deal of work if you clean it up ! Quite jealous of you truthfully , I'm still betting that the front transmission case and suspension will be virtually the same as the FF . This is one that I'd really like to own myself and a 3d printed one will probably be better than o...

Re: Bormac's Nichimo Midships 443 WDS - An unexpected project
I actually took a video of mine while it was apart several years back. Interesting setup!

Re: Another Marui project - Ninja/Shogun
Having raced a Hotshot back in the day I've thought about the wire prop shafts , the main issue is only if you intend to run it , when running they tend to flex into an arc between gearboxes and cause a big vibration , my original racer had a much more substantial probably 3mm stainless steel shaft ...

Re: Bormac's Nichimo Midships 443 WDS - An unexpected project
Extraordinary work as always sir. That center diff is interesting. The small bevel pinion gear appears to have a square section projecting from the back that interfaces with a 90 degree notch cut in both inner rings. I'm probably missing something here but doesn't the notch prevent the pinions from ...

The 10th post on this topic has a link to my YouTube video showing the center diff in action. It’s an odd duck for sure

Re: Bormac's Nichimo Midships 443 WDS - An unexpected project
Oh yeah, thanks for that. I guess it's meant to provide resistance (limited slip?) but it appears the amount of resistance would vary as the pinion rotates and spreads the plates. Sorta like a detent. Apparently, there's a lot about center diffs that I don't understand. Yeah, even with the video, t...

Re: Bormac's Nichimo Midships 443 WDS - An unexpected project
Clearly a rushed and shoddy job , just look at the track control rod ends out of alignment
Seriously good work and quick too !

Re: Bormac's Nichimo Midships 443 WDS - An unexpected project
After that, I had to take care of the tire. I'm still thinking about TPU for printing tire, and I saw some videos with some rubber resin printed tires , and the result seems very good... I keep that in mind for later, but in the meantime, applied a profile, a revolve... Was this video one of them b...

Re: Bormac's Nichimo Midships 443 WDS - An unexpected project
I've not used that resin but have used Siraya Tech Tenacious , it's flexibility is similar , for the shelf it would be excellent and light running on loose surfaces (dirt) it would work but it has none of the natural grippiness of rubber so on road it would not perform well , I've also noticed that ...

Re: So what did you get in the post today ???
I've been watching for a reasonably priced carcass for a Hornet project. What I ended up with is a nicely upgraded former shelfer. In the Toy Story scheme of things, I'm a bit more of a Sid than an Andy, so this will meet the need nicely. It's shelfer days are done. 😁 . PXL_20220527_130708540~2.jpg
