Re: ** Build of the Month Contest - October 2024 ** - Winner - TheDiamondOne
Sassy Chassis Tamiya King Cab According to the nice woman I purchased it from, it was built in the 1990s by her husband, driven for years, passed down to their daughter, driven some more, then listed on Offerup and scooped up by me. It is by far the most upgraded (and probably valuable) RC I own. It...

Re: ** Build of the Month Contest - October 2024 ** - Winner - TheDiamondOne
RC10B1.5 resto mod. The buggy that was meant to be but never happened and would have complimented the T2 nicely. This one started as a used, stripped down, left for dead T2 sport chassis from ebay that I picked up with the intention of making a modern "woin" racer. Highlights are a shorten...

Re: ** Build of the Month Contest - October 2024 ** - Winner - TheDiamondOne
This car started in pretty bad shape and in need of a lot of TLC. My first thoughts were “Going to try and not spend stupid money rebuilding” but it turned into a 3½ year project. My build thread tells all the details. One of the contributors to the thread had said “u need to smell watchu shovel''n”...

Re: ** Build of the Month Contest - October 2024 ** - Winner - TheDiamondOne
Entering my Kyosho Pro-XRT stadium truck. Picked this up early 2021 and spent a little over a year collecting needed parts before starting the build process. Finished the build and installed electronics a couple years back, and just recently finished the body which is a TBG repro with MCI decals. Tr...

Re: ** Build of the Month Contest - October 2024 ** - Winner - TheDiamondOne
This is one of those months where I want to be able to have multiple votes. The front suspension on that Marui Hunter is very cool. Arrgh! So many good options!

QIDI Plus4 - 3D Printer
Recently purchased the QIDI Plus4, they currently have a 5% off deal on their website, with free shipping, and no tax. I used the Paypal 4-pay, so I'm in for about $210 so far, including the PLA filament ($27). https://qidi3d.com/products/plus4-3d-printer The QIDI Plus4 can do PPS-CF carbon fiber fi...

Re: QIDI Plus4 - 3D Printer
Which support type do you use, for the best results? I generally use Tree supports... But tree supports can be hard sometimes : everything needs to be in perfect state for it work : filament extrusion properly calibrated, bed perfectly clean, and filament perfectly dry (sometimes, even with a new r...

Re: Special Project Codename EF209 - RC 1/12 pancar
While I love selling g10 and carbon parts, I think a project like that deserves something printed 8) Not really a tub chassis, but something with raised sides possibly. The Club Race Hero is a really cool design that you could borrow ideas from as well. The simple suspension system works great, the ...

Re: a thread for BambuLab machines
Yes the ams is awesome for multi material prints where you use a support material, the underside surface when used this way is just amazing compared to traditional supports. Also I will say, I didn't think I would use the ams either, but they are crazy cool for off the wall projects and fun stuff, e...

Re: Filament dry storage
By chance, are you also measuring the humidity in the buckets? Maybe knowing the humidity in storage isn't so important since you can always dry the filament when you're ready to use it? Thus, storing the filament in sealed containers with dehumidifiers reduces the time required to dry the filament...

Re: SilverTriple's printing stuff...
Sorry, the temptation has already been generated.
I also have a few projects in mind that will require tires that are not available so I want an inexpensive printer for that purpose.
I could print them on the P1S but...
It looks like the mini could be the right tool for the job.

Re: QIDI Plus4 - 3D Printer
... Some would even advise to do temperature tower, Flow calibration, Pressure advance calibration for each new roll of filament, even if it is same color/brand than the previous one used. Oh no, not fun. That would be the tipping point for me. For designs that require the highest strength po...

Re: a thread for BambuLab machines
Well, thought I'd consult the experts so I'm on Bambu website trying to submit a "support ticket" but the form requires that I attach a printer log file. There's no phone number either so no one to speak to. What a pile of crap! It seems the lack of Android or iOS device is very unu...
