Re: First foray into RC boats: FeiLun FT012
Here are the cracked motor mounting posts...this ended up being an annoying obstacle, but here's how I repaired it. CrackedMountingPosts.jpg I was very lucky to find that 7/32" aluminum tubing was a perfect diameter to fit over the plastic mounting posts nice and snug. However, the outside diam...

Re: Scrapheap Junior
I just used a 4-40 screw to create the rest of the thread. I've made my own 3mm thread taps from 3mm screws. I carefully cut notches on opposite ends of the screw tip with a Dremel cut-off disk. Kinda hard to describe, but it ends up looking like a tap and works pretty well. I've used it to ...

Re: Ronin Marui Samurai runner build
Just one part of the chassis has been boggling me noggin all for almost a day , it's the rear roof pillar , just a nightmare but I've finally worked out how to accurately measure it , by putting long M3 screws through numerous screw holes and locking them with nuts then by using more nuts all thread...

Re: Marui Hunter - My first buggy... Found one to restore :-)
Key questions: is tapping screw a generic term for something else more precise in the screw specialists terms? Is a tapping screw for wood ok for plastic application...? I'll provide a simple answer. Self-tapping screws typically have coarser threads that are meant to bite into whatever material yo...

Re: Marui Hunter - My first buggy... Found one to restore :-)
All the self tapping screws on the Samurai at 3mm , no 4mm at all but it's quite common to replace a stripped out 3mm with a 4mm so it might be a repair if you find any .

Re: Ronin Marui Samurai runner build
Coming on now , really just wants a receiver and body , I've foregone old school power as this is for running and fitted a 17.5 BL system , I got a pair of spring inside shocks and used one without the spring for the front as it looks really clean . https://i.imgur.com/dDBWCZvl.jpg https://i.imgur.c...

Re: Marui Hunter - My first buggy... Found one to restore :-)
I don't know if this might help with an idea, but here's how I repaired completely cracked self-tapping screw mounting posts on a FeiLun FT012 RC boat I modded. If the post threads are stripped out, use slightly bigger-diameter screws after strengthening the mounting posts. https://www.rc10talk.com/...

With flexibles you can set the Combing mode so travel between points is within skin to reduce stringing and with tires you can set the infill density to adjust the hardness of the tire .
