Re: Picture of the day. (Taken by you)
My dusty little oval track can't compete with that majestic sunset, but here it is anyway. I found this by accident. It is in a city park about 30 minutes away. It's not Whippoorwill, obviously, but pretty sweet for a free public area. The photo doesn't show it, but the corners are slightly banked. ...

Re: Picture of the day. (Taken by you)
My vintage style dust track. 20240606_195920.jpg Very nice indeed! That's a proper track. When I sold my previous house, I saved this aerial photo from the real estate listing  I should have sold it in the summer so the grass would be greener and the photo better, but you get the idea. :D

Re: So, what did you do RC today?
I changed the setup and made another run on the dirt oval track with my KF2. It went much better, but grip was still comically low. I think the car is now as good as it going to get until I take a leaf blower and a hose to prep the surface. But...the really fun thing...is that I also took my re-re X...

Re: Traxxas High Voltage Lineup 1996
From a business standpoint, it was a great decision. Absolutely! I was shocked when I returned to the hobby and discovered that "good but not good enough" Traxxas basically owns the hobby now. Never mind hobby shops, you can buy Traxxas at the hardware store, the bait shop, the auto...

If you had included Pyromania instead of Hysteria the vote may have been different.THEYTOOKMYTHUMB wrote: ↑Tue Aug 27, 2024 11:15 am Congratulations on your win KandK, well deserved! Great builds all!

Re: Resurrect NiCd pack
Zap each individual cell but be careful, just quick touches are all you need. Worked perfectly! My original Top Cat thanks you. :D More correctly, the 12x2 brushed motor thanks you. Now it won't get cooked by a LiPo when I get carried away and run it for half hour straight. The process also r...

Re: RC10 DS Classic - Build
I went with the 17.5T motor, as that and the 21.5T are said to be the only accepted choices for some racing classes (not sure about any of that), 17.5T seemed like a safe bet. That is the case here. 17.5 was the limit in most of the classes at the carpet oval. The thing to watch, though, is if it i...

XLS/ProCAT Pro transmission
I have started rebuilding the transmission in my re-re XLS. I have run hundreds of batteries through this buggy since buying it in 2017. I ran it in freezing cold, in the wet, on grass, on dirt; in blazing heat; I ran it everywhere. Power is from a Reedy 7.5 on 2S LiPo. I have done no transmission m...

Re: XLS/ProCAT Pro transmission
I was tempted to put mine back to original just for the nostalgia. The original transmission is an engineering marvel. It is exactly what you would expect when an F1 transmission guy designs an RC car. No doubt Rube Goldberg gently wept at the site of it. My ProCat and Bosscat are both pretty much o...

Re: The Official "What is it?" Thread
Hey that’s pretty kool, I never knew anyone made something like that. Front diffs with one ways yes but never seen hubs. Neat 8) Schumacher Bosscat has one-way front driveshafts. I understand "why" they did it, but will have to pull one apart to see "how". Before I owned a set, ...
