Re: ** Jconcepts Vintage Clash of Champions and Old School Reunion - Hoosier R/C Hobbyplex, New Albany, IN - March 28-30
I am surprised to see "tires/wheels open" for all of the vintage classes. This track was "slicks only" every time I went. The lady in charge was not too happy when I asked either, as if I should have known even though it was my first time at any track in 30 years. A 5 minute hara...

Re: ** Jconcepts Vintage Clash of Champions and Old School Reunion - Hoosier R/C Hobbyplex, New Albany, IN - March 28-30
I went to the track tonight just to check it out. The track is super smooth and sticky. I could feel my shoes sticking as I walked. The locals are running silver compound JConcepts Smoothie 2 slicks with foam (front p/n 4018-06; rear p/n 4017-06) and using SXT. I am sure other brands will work, too,...

Re: Did you ever or do you race now?
I started racing back in the early 90s, 92? 93? I had a blast but was more into building the cars and geeking over the designs than the driving. For some reason, I never did anything more than just toss the car on the track and hope for the best. Never worked on my driving. I was just happy to parti...

Re: So, what did you do RC today?
I put wing end plates on my XLS and one of my Cougars. I hadn't bothered with them before because I knew they would just get torn off. Now I have a big stack of them. They do look better than no plates. We'll see how long they survive.

Re: What is the RC story behind Rear Toe-In?
I always found it interesting that the early CATs (SWB, XL, XLS) had adjustable links for rear toe, but no adjustable links for front or rear camber. In retrospect, they were probably right.

Again with the end plates...
Also, painted a Cougar 2 body from Penguin. My recent visits to a modern track have destroyed the body on my green Cougar.
It looks fine from 3 feet away, but has 3 long splits in the lexan. One more crash and it will fall to pieces.

Re: Brushless motor analyzer
IMO a brushless analyzer is a must have tool if you are serious into rc. Mine has arrived. :D Now to figure out how to use it.... Is there a database somewhere that gives an idea what to expect from a particular wind? Or does that just have to come from experience? Finding the sweet spot for a part...

Re: Picture of the day. (Taken by you)

There is a transitional period in between bouncing and hanging- flapping. It is no good either. Bouncing is the one you want.

Re: I started a youtube rc page
The Dunbar XXX is pretty sweet!
I don't know if such records are kept, but it is quite likely that I hold the record for being the "driver most frequently lapped by Brian Dunbar". He was the local fast guy back when I "raced".
Best of luck with the channel!
