Re: ** Jconcepts Vintage Clash of Champions and Old School Reunion - Hoosier R/C Hobbyplex, New Albany, IN - March 28-30

I am surprised to see "tires/wheels open" for all of the vintage classes. This track was "slicks only" every time I went. The lady in charge was not too happy when I asked either, as if I should have known even though it was my first time at any track in 30 years. A 5 minute har...

Make sure you set your car down with the knobbiest tires you have while asking said question to. And then we she finishes give her the 20 minute talk about how we used to run on "real" off-road dirt tracks.

Re: RC10Talk logos by Dangeruss - Choose your favorite

If we changed No. 4 to a silhouette of a middle-aged dude holding a transmitter sandwiched between the blue and red, I'd be for that.

Blinky mode provides no boost. It is advantageous to run an adjustable timing stock motor to get maximum performance. You can run a fixed timing motor but the static timing may not be optimized.

Re: Resurrection of my late Edinger A stamp

Even though tempting I never got around to order any of the new releases. This one still hanging around as my recreational runner. Gives me that mid eighties drive feel and serves me well. This year I gave it a 40th anniversary treat with a new body from Andy's. The diamond buttons are release. Stac...

Re: ** Jconcepts Vintage Clash of Champions and Old School Reunion - Hoosier R/C Hobbyplex, New Albany, IN - March 28-30

I went to the track tonight just to check it out. The track is super smooth and sticky. I could feel my shoes sticking as I walked. The locals are running silver compound JConcepts Smoothie 2 slicks with foam (front p/n 4018-06; rear p/n 4017-06) and using SXT. I am sure other brands will work, too...

Re: ** Jconcepts Vintage Clash of Champions and Old School Reunion - Hoosier R/C Hobbyplex, New Albany, IN - March 28-30

I sort of think of the shocks that come with the JJ or world spec Ultima as big bore though I get they are technically not. Certainly a modern, smooth threaded shocks at least. But regardless. Your idea is a good one, but unintended consequences right. In an attempt to separate RC10's you create ano...

Re: New Build - NIB B2 Japan Export

Alright chassis is together! PXL_20241008_124310872_C46nFyGI9L.jpeg PXL_20241008_124331431_2X3eGqbF2O.jpeg First white part is a silly one, but I dig it! Rear hub spacer. Re: ** Jconcepts Vintage Clash of Champions and Old School Reunion - Hoosier R/C Hobbyplex, New Albany, IN - March 28-30

I finally got around to reading the rules. Is the heritage class requiring RC10 to run 6 gear just date driven by the built before 1990? I know it's all bench racing but seems a 6 gear RC10 is a step or two behind a new JJ Ultima kit or Triumph. Big bore threaded shocks, slipper, updated metal gear...

Re: Did you ever or do you race now?

Back in the beginning for me, racing was an infrequent opportunity. The LHS had a 1/12th indoor carpet road course, butI didn't have enough electronics for my off roaders and my 12i so it sat most of the time. But sometimes there were 1/10th on road racing events, so some on road rubber tires got pu...
