Re: Racing On The "Other" Side Of The Pond

I like how the "other side" seems to be a little more casual with their track surfaces....short grass, maybe some turf, and a dash of dirt. Seems like they are more determined to have some sort of a track that meets the minimums for "offroad". Instead of balls out all turf indoo...

Brian Kinwald's 1993 World's winning setup

I decided to put together a setup sheet for Brian's winning setup. Keep in mind this is going off of info he shared with the press back in the day, some info may not be 100% but is as close as I could dig up, so far. Note that the sheet shows the Worlds Car shock towers, while he didn't use these to...

Re: Brian Kinwald's 1993 World's winning setup

Was his servo not mounted with posts? Doesn't appear so. That's one thing I don't have to buy lol. Yeah he had it glued down and the ears trimmed a bit. Its also more forward than it would be if it used posts, nearly touching the nose plate. Screenshot 2025-06-19 151043.jpg I want to know what that...

"Make it trick!" - RogueIV's Enhanced Kinwald Replica (and runner)

So I know there's going to be a lot of Kinwald replicas out there with the release of the Kinwald edition from AE but I've decided I want to make mine as accurate as possible to the '93 Worlds winning car, especially after realizing I had many of the parts needed to make it. That said I don't have a...

Re: "Make it trick!" - RogueIV's Enhanced Kinwald Replica (and runner)

After work today I finally started to actually get to work on the car, starting with the "machine" work. I use that word lightly as I do not have a machine shop, but I do have a crappy, old drill press, an endmill, and a ramshackle cross slide vise. First up - The rear arms PXL_20250620_21...

Re: "Make it trick!" - RogueIV's Enhanced Kinwald Replica (and runner)

Added the missing countersinks to the chassis along with reshaping the front of the tub. I also went over the and cleaned up the factory machined edges with fine sandpaper to get the edges more consistent. Re: So, what did you do RC today?

I dug out my Sassy Chassis RC10 and swapped some stuff around. I swapped out the wide front arms from some short ones and used wide CRP axles. For some reason, it just felt right. (the Tamiya shocks are also a better fit with short arms) I also swapped the rear arms and carriers for some that match...

Hmmmmm.
Nevermind, I think someone there messed up and posted the wrong ratio on the website, all the gears have the same tooth count. it is 2.25:1 not 1.83:1 as shown on the website.

Re: "Make it trick!" - RogueIV's Enhanced Kinwald Replica (and runner)

Been slow going on this build. Tons of small things get noticed as I continue on. Top shaft is too short of a hydradrive so had to source a new part for that. Strangly theres a seller on amazon selling them, we'll see if they're any good though. Also ordering a bunch of new seals for the hydradrive ...

DSaw78 wrote: Sun Jul 06, 2025 3:43 pm I have a knock off felt gasket coming for mine; so it won't work with the kit transmission?
It'll work but just be aware that he new trans case has some webbing that might get in the way a little bit. Felt should be able to be pushed over it though.

Hey Thanks!

There's a lot of tiny things in this. Definitely more involved than I first thought!

Re: So, what did you do RC today?

Finished the twins. Those look incredible! Would've liked to see a build thread on both of these. Are they RC? Hey, thanks so much!! I'll put something together and post it somewhere. Yes. 1:10 scale RC, 2WD, full interior, detailed chassis, suspension, 390 engine, C6 transmission, single exhaust s...

Re: "Make it trick!" - RogueIV's Enhanced Kinwald Replica (and runner)

The topshaft came in. While not great it's serviceable and for $15 I can't complain too much. Gear mesh is good it's slightly too big on the flats section so the hydra drive is tough to get onto it. Nothing a little filing and sanding didn't fix. A little comparo to the different top shafts, single ...

Re: What is it now Team Associated?!

Is that deal only for the club members? I'm still seeing it listed for $118. Yes, it is $59.99 for club members. rc10t chassis 5999.jpg Hmm and no laser etching. Do i decide to buy one of these and do my own kinwalds cuts to be more accurate and have a spare nose for my 10T? I've so far resisted pu...
