Hornet Beach Bash Aftermath

Took the hornet for a blast on the beach last night. Ended up doing some pulls with another dude who was running an x maxx. My hornet is positively tiny and slow compared to that, but it did great! After all that salt, it might be time for another teardown.

Re: Looks like AE is going to actually have vintage parts support

What if they made these again (hint hint AE)? What other things besides the obvious long front arms would help people who want to race vintage class get/stay on the track?

Re: What is it about 1/8th buggies that makes them less appealing vintage-wise

Around me it didn't take any talent to drive an 1/8 scale and they kinda killed the 1/10 scale scene locally so that kinda did it for a lot of locals. Not saying I don't have a couple or 20 of them but there just isn't any appeal to me to work on them. I like the simplicity of the 1/10 scale stuff.

Officially an RC10 owner

Apparently none of y'all wanted this bad enough so I ended up with it. At least this one's complete and I just need to clean it up.

It'll arrive when I get home from my trip.

Howdy From Hawai’i Island!

Hey all, it’s a pleasure to finally stop lurking this site and to join up for some fun RC car discussion. I’m a long-time RC enthusiast, originally poisoned by a Tamiya Grasshopper back in oh, 1984 I think it was and have had the disease ever since despite taking some hiatuses as needed. I love old ...

Re: RC10 - A Stamp Rebuild - '85 Jammin' Jay Halsey Tribute

For some reason, the front body mount that was on this car, was shorter than a regular Edinger mount, which I was able to find the older original Ed. mount in a bag, and put it on. This shorter mount had a shorter body and mount, maybe a 1/4" shorter. https://i.imgur.com/qS5XWWS.jpg (3) thick w...

Re: ** Build of the Month Contest - July 2024 ** - Winner -GrePo

Went simple on the paint, actually all done with rattle cans and masking tape, like I would have done back in the day. My first time giving it a shake down on carpet after the build https://youtu.be/yvimCUvuU9s That's an excellent paint job! Appropriate for both 40 years ago and today! This is anot...

Re: Mid-motor Losi XX

I got to the bottom of the bending of the rear T-plate, which was affecting the rear tower and wing angles. Basically, the Kyosho UM733 part that I had mounted, I pushed it too far back. That was lifting the motor mount slightly and causing some flex. So I removed that part and tried a different app...

Re: Howdy From Hawai’i Island!

Excellent intro Xoid. Indeed, please post that motor collection. It's kind of an unofficial requirement from us other motor collectors on here  Hey thanks everybody. I’ve seen some incredible stashes of good cans on this forum but will get around to adding a pic or two over in the vintage ...

Re: The 1/10 Buggy Wheel Database!

That's a great idea, and it would be great to have a similar database for tires... That being said suggestions (this could be very usefull when looking for correspondances): - add a column for scale : it would be great also to have that for 1/8, 1/12, ... - add a column for type: Buggy, Trucks, Mons...
