Re: ** Build of the Month Contest - January 2023 ** - Winner - Steve71
There was The Hornet, The Super Hornet, The Comical Hornet, The Hornet Jun Wanatabe, The Hornet Supreme... Now the Hornet has more sting with the infusion of a mid motor position RC10B4 gearbox, independent rear suspension, and a 10.5T brushless motor with The Hyper Hornet! 😳 Anytime Baby! Build thr...

Re: Javelin makeover
Added quite a few more parts to the chassis.
Tie rod ends are new but most other pieces, except the hardware, is still original.
Waiting on front bumper support.
Undecided on wheel/tire combo.

Re: ** Build of the Month Contest - January 2023 ** - Winner - Steve71
My Mid-motor B1, B4, B6 V2. Lots of trial and error, but in the end a very satisfying build. Off and on about 10 months to complete. At the time my lengthiest build by far. A full build thread is here for the whole story https://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=45187 mm52.JPG mm61.JPG Chuck

Re: Project Hyper Hornet
Need to get a motor sensor cable and change the ESC battery connector, but otherwise it's ready for some running. Added a Futaba S132H servo and R152JE receiver to go with the Tamiya brushless ESC and 10.5T motor. I might tinker with trying to get equal tie rod length for the steering, but it's fine...

Re: So what did you get in the post today ???
Storage boxes, more on order, nice to set up a box for each car, and others for screws, shocks, esc's etc.
Keeps imperial and metric apart, consoles my OCD.

Re: Project Hyper Hornet
Yes, I understand that requirement. If only I had a racing loop in my yard with a jump to test the suspension.

Just was in the box. But after thinking about it, I think I'm just going to but a body and paint it. Just got to find the decals for it or some one to make them.

Re: Dadio's Airbrush Play
I finally summoned the nerve to try the new paints on a body , I've had this Mini Mustang body waiting for 6+ months , these are candy colours faded in with chrome on the sides and aircraft fuselage aluminium through the centre section then all backed with black , the chrome colours show every littl...

The heavy hitters are up top, but I'll throw some fodder in. ECX Torment, bought as a slider. Mods limited to AE Rival MT10 big bore shocks, RPM bellcranks, Hot Racing aluminum steering blocks, and steering turnbuckles. Avid S/C wheels. Schumacher front tires and JConcepts rears. Electronics: Futaba...

Action RC Racing & History podcast
I've been working on a podcast series for a while now - the early episodes picked up a lot of Australian R/C history, but now moving further afield. Recent episode featured Robin Schumacher and upcoming eps over next few weeks have some more international flavour. It's been great fun doing the resea...

Re: Hybrid buggy build
Got the Am-Pro upper and lower chassis braces installed. They are a little awkward to install but not terribly so.
Combined with running long screws all the way through, these really help stiffen up the chassis.
