Re: Yokomo MX-4 SSG Special

Awesome build Dual, just a quick question relating to the LWB conversion. What parts are actually used to allow for the conversion? I've studied the pics and can't quite understand how it works.

Yokomo MR4-BC and MR4-BC special builds

Having been a way from any Yokomo builds since my WCS build I thought I'd jump back in with a couple of Yokomo MR4-BC builds. The first is a standard MR4-BC which I snagged of ebay for okay money, I managed to get a donner MR4-TC for a the special chassis and top brace, one way adaptor and one way f...

Re: Yokomo MR4-BC and MR4-BC special builds

The second build is a MR4-BC special which I got from Japan Yahoo auctions for an excellent price, it has the special shocks, special chassis and top brace one way adaptor (no special slipper unfortunately), special wheels and adaptors, the LWB conversion and I think a one way front diff which I wil...

Re: Yokomo MR4-BC and MR4-BC special builds

Making slow progress on these builds after I contracted the 'human malware' but I'm on the mend. First up got all the bits for a MX-4 slipper. Not sure if this is going in the official special or the modified standard car. DSC_1796.JPG I managed to modify the rear gearbox parts of the LWB conversion...

Re: 93 WCS replica…..M3 belt lengths and pulleys?

For the rear - any of the ZC pulleys from 870c to the works cars as it uses the older outdrives.

For the front - YZ-10 pulley as the diff outdrives will be different, I think that MX/MR 4 pulleys will work.

Alex B's WCS 1989 build

In keeping with tradition I'm making a thread on my latest Yokomo build, thanks to the work of Cheng Fan's amazing reproduction parts, some new old stock Yokomo parts, some old parts including some that I actually used in my 870c as a child from the Alex B parts bin, MCI racing, penguin bodies and s...

Re: Alex B's WCS 1989 build

Shocks are vintage associated 0.71 for the front and 1.02 for the rear. I only had some blue anodized shock caps in the parts bin so these were given a quick rub down then primed using Tamiya plastic primer and them painted with a Tamiya black. The white plastic parts are from FAN RC, but I've since...

Re: Alex B's WCS 1989 build

For this build I will be using original Yokomo parts where I have them, in the case of the front and rear shock towers I managed to get a NIB ZC-710S front tower, the rear is one I ran on my original 870c back in the day, which from recollection was a genuine Yokomo part. As you can see from the pho...

Re: Alex B's WCS 1989 build

The bumper is homemade from 3mm 'kydex' I used a heat gun and wooden spoon handle to achieve the bend. It is grey because I ordered white kydex sheet but was sent grey, either that or I'm colour blind . I've used a nylon bulkhead for mock up purposes but I'm waiting on some FAN RC aluminium o...

Re: Alex B's WCS 1989 build

A couple of small updates. I mocked up the rear suspensions arms and hubs. Fan RC provides some nylon and and metal washers of this I used 1 large nylon and 1 metal washer for the rear and 3 metal washers for the front. I total you will need 4 of the metal washers and one of the larger nylon washer ...
