RC10DS - Kit and Build review.

Picked up the kit on Thursday and built it up yesterday night and today. For the most part the kit went together well albeit the manual was not quite right. So as I was building from both the old and new manual I started to make notes and suggestions on the new manual which I have here: https://driv...

Re: Traxxas Lineup 1995

Out of all the sh*t they crammed in that TCP box....

Nope, nope, can't do it, the bearings for the steering puts it over budget.

Well, they needed to be able to sell an upgrade package for it. 😁

Re: Traxxas High Voltage Lineup 1996

Is this the official turning point when Traxxas gave up trying to beat AE and Losi at the racing game and decided to focus on basher/fun type vehicles? From a business standpoint, it was a great decision. AE and Losi are now owned by other companies and Traxxas is a titan. As a whole (not their ind...

Re: Traxxas High Voltage Lineup 1996

From a business standpoint, it was a great decision. Absolutely! I was shocked when I returned to the hobby and discovered that "good but not good enough" Traxxas basically owns the hobby now. Never mind hobby shops, you can buy Traxxas at the hardware store, the bait shop, the auto...

Re: 1/10 Scale On-Road - Chassis Options in 2024

Thanks for this magazine link! I got sidetracked though on the Tamiya M-02 Beetle article, on pg. 38/78: Crazy to see a '97 magazine article with that body in it. I never read these magazines back then, I went to the shop by our house, and they had what they had, including my CE and GT, also bought...

Re: 1/10 Scale On-Road - Chassis Options in 2024

Okay, let me make another suggestion. You've chosen a chassis with the correct wb BUT track width is wrong. Let's adjust the track width with a custom set of arms. I've done that here with this Scorcher project. This build was based upon a DT-02 chassis but the wb and track was wrong for the Scorche...

Re: 1/10 Scale On-Road - Chassis Options in 2024

Seller in Japan just accepted $125 for the Tamiya 911 RSR TT-02. The decision was made for me. More stoked on the body than the chassis at the moment. Congratulations! The 911 body (so pretty) and wheels would have cost more than all the hop up parts in the "R" kit so, can always add thos...

Re: ** Build of the Month Contest - September 2024 ** - Winner - RC10th

I'm sure we all remember the giant glass case of R/C cars at Toys R Us, and not to mention the aisle with all the NES flip cards where we would stand for as long as our mom would let us and try to determine which game to buy from reading the maker's outlandish descriptions and a few microscopic scre...

Re: Sees Wheels

great post! They are indeed still in business. I live 3mi from their location. I've considered stopping by unannounced with my Sees wheels and thanking them for the history but I don't want them to think I'm some a-hole or crazy person! Here is the Jan91 RCCA.. if you don't have this ad and want a b...

Re: 1/10 Scale On-Road - Chassis Options in 2024

Tried the 31mm wide wheels in the rear, they rub. Put the correct 26mm wide rear wheels on, and it's a perfect fit. https://i.imgur.com/FRfjbi6.jpg Can slam it on the ground and it still clears the chassis and wells. https://i.imgur.com/toM5SAK.jpg Think I'm going to get rid of the window decals, th...

Stumbled on a track at a local park

Took my hornet and stampede out for a run. In my excitement that theres an RC track that I dont have to pay (im not serious enough to pay $30 a day, hobbytown) to use, I didnt get any pics of the track but did get these two. Ran one pack on the hornet (which consisted mostly of flipping over on jump...
