Blockbuster rent-to-own, modchips, ROM's, and 4:3 rear projection, were all part of the good old days. 8)

Traxxas Wildcat documents

This is my first post on here so I hope I have everything formatted correctly. Attached is the supplemental instruction sheet and parts list that came with the Traxxas Wildcat. I hope this helps out any potential Wildcat owners out there 8)

Vintage RC10 signed by Halsey & Lett at PCH Hobbies in Lomita, CA

This is my local hobby shop Pacific Coast Hobbies. Been there many times and never noticed this one in a case at the back of the store. Bit of a mashup but it has early production shocks & chassis with the very light anodizing. Never seen this in person. Other early parts inside too (too hard to...

Re: Brushless motor analyzer

IMO a brushless analyzer is a must have tool if you are serious into rc. Mine has arrived. :D Now to figure out how to use it.... Is there a database somewhere that gives an idea what to expect from a particular wind? Or does that just have to come from experience? Finding the sweet spot for a part...

Orange, or Blue?

As much as I love Blue, I'm leaning towards Orange on this one.

Re: PLA Wood Fiber Filament

I've tried a few wood filaments , love them , real smell of wood when you print them , if you set the piece right then their layer lines look like wood grain :!: The down side is clogs and stringing , I'd recommend a 0.6mm nozzle and there's nothing you can do about stringing , on the bright side it...

Re: Yokomo YZ-10

One correction. The YZ-10 came with a black fiberglass flat plate chassis.

Re: Tamiya Sand Scorcher - 2010 Reissue

Thanks for the encouragement, guys! :D If I try to fix those errors now, I'm likely to ruin an adjacent area in the process, and go in circles like I did with the Tyrrell P-34 model. Going to leave it alone and use that as a reminder of how to mask better in the future. I'll always use the Tamiya cu...

Re: Traxxas Vector

The prototype pictured is pretty interesting. It is more in line with the pics of S. Montgomery's "TRX-1" that are around the net. 1950 rear arms, 1988 lexan gear cover on the 1990 motor plate with 1989 motor guard. Similar wheels but not production. Maybe the 2750 arms made up for the off...

Re: Tamiya Sand Scorcher - 2010 Reissue

 Sabotage!

Those new Tamiya royalty free decals are the worst, I have to buy the MCI decals in order to not ruin the vintage model theme, or even look at those generics. 8)

Re: Tamiya Sand Scorcher - 2010 Reissue

Great cover of a crap song . I was going to post a song from Gaslight Anthem, seeing how it wasn't you that did that to my workbench. :D Got all the box art decals rough cut, there really aren't that many. https://i.imgur.com/uW4VDGl.jpg Lots of good ones leftover that will find their way on to...

Re: Kyosho Assualt

Thanks for posting this advertisement for my favorite Kyosho buggy! Even after owning three of them purchased on eBay and rebuilt, then sold in the early 2000's, I never knew about the battery on the bumper to power the glow start. None of the cars I rebuilt had the plug connector to the motor, and ...

Re: Kyosho Assualt

I was all set to buy the Kyosho Assault in late '86, had just turned 14, and kept poring over the TowerHobbies catalog, specifically for the Kyosho Assault. Ended up buying a RAM expansion for the Commodore 64 instead, and traded away my '85 Frog for more C64 stuff, shortly thereafter. If I co...
