Re: Edinger? Time for some love
Yup early spine plate. That's really cool. I wouldn't be too disheartened with the discolorations. It was like that from the molds, and every car that has seen sunlight will have it. The plastics we're always more of a bone color.

Re: Edinger? Time for some love
Spur gear changes were pretty much the norm, so that's pretty easy to lose the original. The original had a smaller number of holes and was available for quite a long time since it was the same up until the stealth came out. If you keep you eyes peeled you should be able to find a white one somewher...

Re: A stamp Cadillac - warped rear arms
the tubs are stamped(so they aren't always perfect), and if it's been used at all, there is a very good chance someone impacted something pretty hard. It's very common that tubs go banana shaped. You can flex them back down, with the right amount of wood blocks, some tweaking and pressure. Be sure t...

Re: Castor block choices
30 degree blocks will give you the most srock caster, at 8 degrees to match the ds noseplate. The 30 degree blocks have no offset. So they will be any angle a kickup would be. From there, to get any more caster, you would have to flip others left to right and trim the rib off to get the travel you n...

Re: Castor block choices
whoops. yes, i meant positive caster, with the top of the spindle leaning behind the wheel as you move forward. yes, you have to trim the caster block, the rib and possibly some of the back side. though, as a dragster, you might be OK as is with just a few degrees of steering angle. you likely won't...

Re: Edinger? Time for some love
If you can find some regular #4 screws about half inch long, you could cut the heads off and use them. Or just wire wheeling the setscrews to remove the oxide coating

Re: Disable Ignition
The very best is the original service manual which is printed by helms. They have the best detail and troubleshooting guides, but obviously are pricey. Worth the the money though for tough issues. You might be able to find the manuals as CDs or downloads cheaper. What are you looking for information...

Re: RC10 Cadillac A-Stamp Restore Attempt
There is a lot of play on the top shaft, you can shim it. But those screws look like they are sticking out pretty far. They should be barely proud of the motor plate. I'd add a washer behind the screw heads.

Re: RC10 Cadillac A-Stamp Restore Attempt
nah, don't worry too much about the brushes. You aren't trying to eek out every last ounce of power out of the motor and the brushes will wear in no problem. as for doing the water trick and then rinsing in alcohol, make sure you apply some light oil to the bushings for the motor shaft. that by far ...

Re: 27 MHz vs. 75 MHz
you should in general as much as possible, use matched crystals that are specified by the manufacturer, ie, futaba matched pairs, airtronics matched pairs, etc. Now, in theory, the crystals should work in any system, am or fm. In practice, crystals can be manufactured that operate slightly different...

Re: RC10 Truck Value hierarchy
i'm not sure what they are doing from a business perspective, surely doing what they need to do to survive and comply with their overlords.. If you look at their website on the discontinued list vs new models, it's very striking. the b7 stuff is either out or will be soon, so i expect the b6 stuff t...

Re: Quadra-symmetric RC10
The purpose behind the quadra symmetric design is to give the front and rear suspension the same geometry. Same arm length, same chassis width. So in order to accomplish that with the tub with no mods, the arm mounts needed to squeeze in ever so slightly. If you don't really care about that as scr8p...
