Said I'd provide the 976 Marina Blue Metallic paint color match, with the real one, here it is. https://i.imgur.com/ZsIGYFt.jpg https://i.imgur.com/QRqTB2r.jpg https://i.imgur.com/eknVUsa.jpg https://i.imgur.com/mnuLGUZ.jpg https://i.imgur.com/UuB8mSu.jpg Pretty close match, and it could be the real...

Re: 2014 Kyosho Beetle

Painted the front bearing adapters semi gloss X-18, like the rear hubs. https://i.imgur.com/lh3ff49.jpg Got the 5mm OD/4mm ID brass sleeves made for the axles, put them inside the Tamiya rims in the rear. https://i.imgur.com/ECkFl2F.jpg Rear wheels lock up on the friction drives with no problems, no...

Re: Associated Foam Tires - Standard size

Going to document what I find here, in the pursuit of the correct foam donuts. What the Dot Colors mean on foam donuts (how much rubber is in the foam) - taken from old forum posts at: https://www.hobbytalk.com/threads/foam-tire-chart.132548/ FOAM TIRES: Color Durometer Notes BSR Yellow 33 Low tract...

Re: The RC Corvette in - (1988) The Dead Pool - Clint Eastwood

Got the foam donuts on order, we'll see how that turns out. https://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?p=567259#p567259 Took me a few tries to get the Kydex front bumper shape right, still need to fit the body and finish cutting it. Score and snap with a sharp utility knife, like thicker lexan. Heat gun...

Re: The RC Corvette in - (1988) The Dead Pool - Clint Eastwood

Finished the 40th chassis today. By building the 40th side by side with TDP, I can spot the parts I'm missing more easily, as the 40th is a complete kit. https://i.imgur.com/BfW5JMp.jpg Missing the lower front shock pins for TDP and the set screws, asc6224 on the way. Think those are the very last m...

Re: The RC Corvette in - (1988) The Dead Pool - Clint Eastwood

Here's the reason in the movie that there were two different license plate numbers, intentionally seen. yEBHVJAL_E0 I was unable to find that video clip anywhere else, so I made that one. This scene comes before the big chase scene. The story also goes, that the movie crew ran over the main vette, a...

Re: RC10 - A Stamp Rebuild - Chipped Idler Gear

https://i.imgur.com/dJXAzwZ.jpg Just need the 4-40 set screws to get the diff lock going, may have to order some. These are sealed bearings so they won't do a 15 second spin, $32 turned out to be the deciding factor on this :D. I'll still do the rest of the guide steps, no hurry on this one though....

Is there a modern 1:12 car that you like these days? Cue the obligatory Schumacher reference from me :D There is the current 1/12 World Champion Schumacher Eclipse 5: https://www.racing-cars.com/rc-models-2/cars/cars-2wd-4wd=2wd/eclipse-5-1-12th-circuit-kit-k203?returnurl=%2frc-models-2%2fcars%2fca...

Well, I'm not paying it :!:  :D z-q29hbEP04 I bought a 48dp 81T spur to go with this, but seem to have lost it, it's just gone now - but would they have used 48dp in 1985? Thanks! Re: The RC Corvette in - (1988) The Dead Pool - Clint Eastwood

How did AE do their chrome? Vacuum metallization... the part is put in a vacuum chamber with an aluminum wire, drawn down, then current is applied across the wire which vaporizes the aluminum and the vacuum causes it to attach to the part. Over the last few years all the vacuum metallization places...

Re: RC10 - A Stamp Rebuild - Chipped Idler Gear

Had to grind the set screw, and the ring, was not easy getting it to flush. The dimension on the Dremel cutting wheel, even a short worn one, dictated the angle I could get at on the ring notch. https://i.imgur.com/kV1qD6G.jpg CA set screw. https://i.imgur.com/tDUge3V.jpg Grind out gear cases. https...
