Re: Chrome Spray for Lexan

While it definitely isn't "chrome", I use Duratrax Silver Streak on bumpers and such. It is metallic and reflects well in sunlight (its overcast today, so...). https://www.rc10talk.com/download/file.php?id=174630&t=1 It also works great as a neutral backer. That does look good. Spaz S...

Re: Chrome Spray for Lexan or Plastics

The completely dry lexan scrap, with the Revell painted side facing outward, notice the mirror like reflection. https://i.imgur.com/fS5WZQJ.jpg Severely folded and twisted the scrap - Revell did not lose adhesion or make a dent in it. https://i.imgur.com/uewzk2A.jpg I'm convinced Revell is durable e...

Re: Tamiya Tyrrell P34 6-Wheeler - 1977 Argentine GP - 2022 Reissue

The last can of TS-15 will be here tomorrow, that makes (5) cans :x. I learned some really hard lessons on this model about prep and painting, but it should be done very soon.

Re: The RC Corvette in - (1988) The Dead Pool - Clint Eastwood

Got the Dhawk TDP wheels yesterday, they're exactly what I ordered, beautiful craftsmanship. Tried all of the foam donuts that I had purchased in anticipation, and none of those foam donuts fit the TDP wheels yesterday. Was so bummed out over the money and time spent, to have it all not work as I ha...

Re: What's in the mail? Or, What are you currently waiting for?

VUI-ELCdjxo Can't go any further on this project, waiting for parts again. https://i.imgur.com/Yl1A46y.jpg In the mail currently. 40th axle shim kit - the original cone washers and flat washers were bent, one was nearly folded. Would cost too much to go NOS, went 40th instead. https://i.imgur.com/J...

Re: 1/10 Scale On-Road - Chassis Options in 2024

Bought a VW Dual Cab body a while back and got it cut out. This one has a wheelbase of 256mm, or standard RC Touring size. https://i.imgur.com/5nsRN5S.jpg Going to paint it with Tamiya PS-55 flat clear primer, and then use automotive color matched L31 Dove Blue, for as close of a match to the real t...

Re: What's in the mail? Or, What are you currently waiting for?

Those are great rear tires... But, Tamiya Holiday Buggy tires are what he ran. Thanks for the info! Maybe I'll set out to find a pair of those Holiday Buggy tires at some point, but the sidewall writing on the Pro-Line's is my favorite look of that period. Going to have to be a loose interpretation...

Re: RC10 - A Stamp Rebuild - Chipped Idler Gear

Going to take this car in the direction of a Jammin' Jay Halsey tribute, to both the 1985 race car, and the RC10 in the movie The Dead Pool. Not going to mod the chassis or make an exact replica, exterior will be close as I can get it though. https://i.imgur.com/3Ct0pZP.jpg https://i.imgur.com/YGIC9...

If this mid-late Edinger had come with the box, manual, and original body, I would've left it all stock.

Need to work up the courage to cut out the Andy's body.

Re: RC10 - A Stamp Rebuild - Chipped Idler Gear

Nobody really used the single cup on the early cars, people installed the pack sideways. The holes were offset to one side as well, so the pack would have sat at a bit of an angle. It was for servo clearance with the speed control on one side but that never made it to production. Now that you've sa...
