Re: RC10 Green Edition - Build
I used it just buy bulk from Avid and have a huge stash of bearings for $1 a bearing but I got lazy and usually buy kits now too. I have used Fast Eddy and others. I am assuming the OG Tamiya wheels were a metric size, maybe Jay just shoved the SAE bearing in it to fit the axles back in day. Not re...

Re: RC10 Green Edition - Build
The new MIP CVD's are nice, this is my first newer pair, since '98 or so. https://i.imgur.com/AeF6lsX.jpg They even give you the extra parts that tend to fly off and get lost. https://i.imgur.com/v73rBRP.jpg Nicely done, MIP! https://i.imgur.com/HR7reiC.jpg Couple more hours left on the GE chassis. ...

Re: RC10 Green Edition - Build
Orange shocks look a bit goofy on a green car, going to have to figure something out. http://rotoscopers.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/Great-Pumpkin.jpg Found an extra black 48dp 81T spur gear that seemingly had been waiting for this project. https://i.imgur.com/doeAOsP.jpg Debating putting togethe...

Re: RC10 Green Edition - Build
Going to use the stock TB's for now, may replace them at some point in the future.

Can't live with those orange shocks though. Something will need to be done.

Re: RC10 Green Edition - Build
This thing is coming along really nice! Can't wait to see it completed! Do you have a paint scheme in mind? Or just more solid Hulkness? :) Thanks for the encouragement on this one! I was waiting to see how the shocks turn out before deciding on the body, need to tie it all together somehow. I do l...

Re: RC10 Green Edition - Build
The easiest way I have found to build the stock turnbuckles, is a shock wrench, and the old plastic AE wrench. Leaves no marks. https://i.imgur.com/uiHCmKM.jpg Tried to see how the orange shocks would match, just to give them a last chance. https://i.imgur.com/ml4QqlQ.jpg https://i.imgur.com/7lKiSRJ...

Re: RC10 Green Edition - Build
You could run the gold shocks and go with a Green Goblin paint scheme. Would have to fabricate a pumpkin bomb launcher though. Maybe B.A. and Murdock still have the blueprints to that lettuce head cannon. You could just scale that down. :D Further research indicates it was, in fact, a cabbage canno...

Re: The RC Corvette in - (1988) The Dead Pool - Clint Eastwood
The foil takes some getting used to, and familiar with. Using gloves makes this much easier, it doesn't stick to your hands and makes it smudge free. Only the front passenger side bumper was applied so far, that's all one piece. https://i.imgur.com/t4uRwLV.jpg The left side reflects, the right side ...

Re: RC10 Green Edition - Build
I’m thinking that’s probably just a degreaser…..IMG_1550.jpeg It has the same Sodium Hydroxide (lye) in it, that the aerosol does. Here's the proof :) https://i.imgur.com/Y6g430B.jpg https://i.imgur.com/wI6Hmof.jpg I did want the inside of the shocks left orange. What's everybody using to polish th...

Re: RC10 Green Edition - Build
I went ahead and ordered some Mother's and a Dremel buffing bit kit. Should all be here tomorrow. I was worried I may have left the shocks in too long when I was doing this. I did (4) soakings, (3) at 5 minutes, followed with a complete rinse each time, and then a ten minute soak to finish things of...

Re: RC10 Green Edition - Build
Spent about an hour learning how to not ruin anything. A bit of a mess.

Should get faster from here on out, now that I have the method down, and am not worried about ruining anything.
