Re: The RC Corvette in - (1988) The Dead Pool - Clint Eastwood
Looks good. I'm amazed you were able to foil the bumper in one piece. Nice! :) Nitrile gloves were the key to getting the foil on there, for me, though it took a of couple swings before any contact was made . Also used a new #11 x-acto blade to barely score and then tear the excess off at the ...

Re: RC10 Green Edition - Build
Was polishing the first shock, as a proof of concept, to see what could be done, or the level of luster that could be acheived. I wasn't thinking that if I take two hours of polishing, and make it look like this: https://i.imgur.com/B3Ag8Qh.jpg https://i.imgur.com/psiSfP1.jpg - now I have to make th...

Re: RC10 Green Edition - Build
Wow that looks great! And so far past my patience level to ever do myself  Much thanks! I never had any patience as a kid, would always rush through a build of a Snap Tite model, without paint, and then wonder why it didn't look exactly like the box  In the last year I have tried to slow ...

The box art drew me in then the frenzy of snapping parts off the tree and following the assembly instructions took over. Paint was for c...

Re: Was KISS the hottest band in the world? 77'/78'
All I can add is vivid memories that when I was 5 in 1978 I saw Kiss everywhere. In 1978 they were near the top if not the top Halloween costume that year. I have very vivid memories of this. My aunt was in art school at that time, she painted my two cousins and my face with grease paint that year;...

Used to play this one in a 90's punk band, gets everyone going.
We stole the idea from RKL though.

Re: RC10 Green Edition - Build
These shocks must be the right finish/color, because they disappear in to the design. https://i.imgur.com/jKNoj4w.jpg https://i.imgur.com/w68gwbh.jpg It would've been near impossible to match the chassis anodize with the shocks, had I tried. https://i.imgur.com/NJ4lhDT.jpg Need to blue the front Tam...

Re: Kyosho Nitro Lineup 1993
That 911 is sweet! Had no idea that was out there. Kyosho also did that 930 Slant Nose too, didn't they? At some point in the mid-late 90's, the USA-1 Nitro Crusher became based off of the Inferno MP-5, they changed the gas tank too at that time. Thanks for posting these articles, didn't read the ma...

Re: RC10 Green Edition - Build
Started toying with the idea of the boxart body on the GE. They used the Jammin' Jay Halsey '85 IFMAR front wheels on the GE (Pro-Line 100F Chrome). https://img2.associatedelectrics.com/pictures/news/articles/2886/RC10-Green-BoxTop_lg.jpg Just now noticed the GE boxart didn't use the orange shocks e...

Re: Kyosho Nitro Lineup 1993
The tank and pan are very similar. Indeed the pans are very similar, I'd go so far to say deceptively so being the Inferno was an evolution of the Burns. But between the USA-1 N/C and inferno MP-5 the bulkheads, suspension, motor/drive systems, and their mounting points are all different. Cross ref...

Re: RC10 Green Edition - Build
Cdev , Do you have any tracks near you? I don't have any tracks closer than an hour away, and I already know what happens when I drive these in gravel or on the road, it trashes the bottom. I really like building them, rather than breaking or cleaning them - these days. If they brought back the vin...

Re: Kyosho Nitro Lineup 1993
That's more of the point I was making, that with the Burns to Inferno evolution, the USA-1 NC similarly evolved and used MP-5 compatible parts. I still have the steel gear kit for the USA-1 NC, which were all MP-5/Burns parts from the period. Ah, I get what you're sayin'. Yeah, gears, universals, d...
