Re: So, what did you do RC today?
The Tamiya M-06 VW Bus model kit instructions have you buy PS-55 Flat Clear for the sole purpose of painting the outside of the body, to dull or flat the vinyl/ragtop, so it's not shiny like the paint is. You can see the halo lamp's reflection is not a complete circle because the ragtop is flat or d...

Re: RC10GT2 + MAMBA MONSTER X + 2650Kv Castle 1512
Unbelievable. The whole time all my problems were aerodynamics. I honestly don’t know how to get the code v= for YouTube links anymore. It’s purely random if it works when I hit share. https://youtu.be/BFX1ElfROOg?si=XCVyjIRw3kQvL...

Re: RC10GT2 + MAMBA MONSTER X + 2650Kv Castle 1512
One question though how did you get to the original URL? I use the app. Can I not use the app? I didn't realize you were using an app, I just clicked the link you posted: https://youtu.be/ BFX1ElfROOg ?si=XCVyjIRw3kQvL27_ When I get to YouTube, from your link, it changes the URL back to non-shared ...

Re: Lexan Body Trimming - Scissors or Sharp Blade?
I always used just scissors in the past, with decent results, but it took forever to get the edges straight and smooth, I also use 2000 grit wet sandpaper in the wheel wells and the edges. But I recently tried the sharp hobby knife, score and snap method, and that is the cleanest looking lexan cut I...

Re: What your workstation looks like?
Forgive me if I've already posted about this somewhere ... search came up empty. It's something I've been struggling with for a while, but now there's a deadline. I'm getting some new carpet installed, and one of the legs on my workbench is almost guaranteed to break when moved. I need to replace i...

Re: Lexan Body Trimming - Scissors or Sharp Blade?
Got the Fiskars short blade handle, it's a dream come true, the blade makes this all so much easier once the method/technique is solid. Finishing the last wheel well. https://i.imgur.com/MmvCnns.jpg Kept the brand new blade tip lightly pressed to the lexan while following the contour of the line, an...

Re: 1/10 Scale On-Road - Chassis Options in 2024
Got the Team Associated Apex2 Hoonitruck today. https://i.imgur.com/Cpcn9px.jpg It was still sealed, never opened. The Team Associated Clearance seller on eBay is selling damaged box items at nearly half-off. https://i.imgur.com/BqEItY4.jpg The outside of my box was a bit damaged, and the car broke ...

Tamiya Sand Scorcher - 2010 Reissue
The first hobby grade RC I ever saw in my life, was when I was riding the city bus at 12 years old. There was an older kid maybe 14-15, sitting in the back of the bus, with the Tamiya Sand Scorcher box in his lap. All I could see was the side of the box. In that moment I made up my mind I had to get...

Re: Tamiya Sand Scorcher - 2010 Reissue
That is so sweet! The right decals, a boxart front bumper, and love the wheels you went with too, they look like the old Centerline rims, especially the way you painted the drums black in the center of each, so cool. Thanks for the recommendation on the paint pen, I may have to try a couple of diffe...

Re: Tamiya Sand Scorcher - 2010 Reissue
Thanks! I completely understand about not wanting to drive it in the dirt, too much time invested, I'm the same way these days. I ordered the Sharpie oil based paint pen. Hoping to get the tire writing correct, but I'm concerned about clean up, I see people use their Xacto blade to scratch off the e...

Re: Tamiya Tyrrell P34 6-Wheeler 1977 Argentine - Reissue
That is very cool, being that close to the real thing!
I like how the Tamiya model gives you the choice of driver too.

Re: Tamiya Sand Scorcher - 2010 Reissue
I will have the oil based Sharpie pen, the acrylic based pens, and I also have Tamiya acrylic and tooth picks. The spare tires should be here soon to test on. The Sand Scorcher kit went from Kadoma, Osaka Japan, to Memphis TN, in one day today. Should be here soon.

Got the P34 kit and a Hobbywing 1060 ESC yesterday, went with the FastEddy bearings for this too. https://i.imgur.com/08vv03j.jpg https://i.imgur.com/KXolyeK.jpg Glad the decals are the same for this RI, as they were in '77. https://i.imgur.com/9ZxsuF9.jpg The front four. https://i.imgur.com/6OKOqVz...
