Re: Tamiya Sand Scorcher - 2010 Reissue
Whaaa??... You're disturbed... It wasn't me  69lK3RUiq-8 Really wanted to put that Forward Automotive Products sticker on door but the body was covering it. Definitely, reproduction decals would be far better than Tamiya's new versions. Car is looking good though, will be sweet when i...

Will drill and tap most of this, but probably have to CA or hot glue some things along the way. I tried very hard to model those shock accur...

Kyosho Assualt
In 1983 Kyosho released its second buggy based on their 1000 Series 1/10 2wd off-road chassis which they called, the Assault. Five models in total would use the 1000 Series chassis, itself an all metal design with square tube main rails, crossmember plates, and a tubular roll cage that quite accurat...

Re: Kyosho Assualt
Thanks for posting this advertisement for my favorite Kyosho buggy! Even after owning three of them purchased on eBay and rebuilt, then sold in the early 2000's, I never knew about the battery on the bumper to power the glow start. None of the cars I rebuilt had the plug connector to the motor, and ...

Re: Kyosho Assualt
I picked one up quite awhile ago from a fellow member here, and I was going to Scorpionize it, but since I have started diving into the nitro world a little bit, I pulled it out a couple of weeks ago and put it in the near-future queue. I think part of the diff is busted and I just need to find that...

Re: QIDI Plus4 - 3D Printer
Your parts are looking great! I'm about to order filament and I'm looking for some advice. Are we selecting PTEG over say ABS for its improved printability? According to these graphs, ABS is stronger and more heat resistant than PTEG. Maybe it's all about the "pungent odors"?? filaments.jp...

Re: QIDI Plus4 - 3D Printer
Thanks!! I'm leaning toward ABS for printing bodies that will painted so UV exposure won't be a problem. How does PTEG sand and does it accept lacquer based primer and paint? Also, what is the best method to bond PTEG? Thanks for your reply. That's the biggest advantage of ABS : it's probably the e...

Re: QIDI Plus4 - 3D Printer
PETG is the second least toxic filament, after PLA, was the impression I was under after reading on it. If I get a tent/vent, or print outdoors, I'd go with nylon filament. Thinking about PAHT-CF, or PA12-CF, as it is less prone to moisture absorption than ABS. ABS is not prone to moisture absorpti...

Re: Tamiya Sand Scorcher - 2010 Reissue
The Sharpie looks pretty good, it's not flat black, but it does look like rubber. https://i.imgur.com/PrAruLh.jpg https://i.imgur.com/pe72YnG.jpg Going to finish as much as I can with the pen, and then see if it requires paint. Yes, I agree; the Sharpie looks convincing. FWIW, I use water-based cra...

Re: Next up- The Halsey edition RC10
Man, associated did a really nice job with the box art on the halsey kit. I've thrown away many kit boxes after finishing builds, but this one is a keeper for sure!
