Re: a thread for BambuLab machines

I'm happy to report that my very first print was a success.

The transmission housing required only 1 hour and 10 minutes to print and the P1S wasn't as noisy as I thought it would be. :D

Re: a thread for BambuLab machines

It's clear to me that updating the firmware is a critical first step in my case and the printer will need to connect to the web to accomplish that step. At the moment, the printer is connected to my laptop via LAN-only mode. The QIDI is able to update Firmware from an SD card, do Bambu give you tha...

I use 3M VHB on everything, also used it on the tail wing.

I was going to use gorilla tape but I think the 3m would work better.

Re: a thread for BambuLab machines

Apparently, the X1's firmware can be updated via SD but not the P1 -- at least not yet. Exiting LAN-only mode does not free-up access to the web. Bambu Support had me create a cfg file on the SD card that contains my LAN sign-in credentials. The printer reads the cfg upon boot-up and I no longer se...

Re: QIDI Plus4 - 3D Printer

I'm guessing metallic filament behaves like metallic paint; the color tone varies with changes in lighting angle.
Your parts look like metal.

Anyway, thanks for posting. It's good to know what's possible with unpainted printed parts.

Re: What's in the mail? Or, What are you currently waiting for?

Kyosho brushless motors went on sale the other day so I pulled the trigger on 13.5T Gold ($87.xx) , 19.5T Red ($75.xx) and a couple ESC's.

Currently waiting on 87 Ultima Worlds kit, and have collected a few parts for that build.

Re: What's in the mail? Or, What are you currently waiting for?

From my experience when everything goes right with USPS you are good. The minute you see "in transit to next location" your hosed. Once it makes one wrong move, add days or a week to the transit time. It's like that first error basically sends it in circles or the slowest possible route ge...

Futaba fp-t3pg magnum senior partial tear down

I IMG_5687.jpeg I purchased futaba magnum senior with some case damage, but otherwise in good condition some time ago. It was also missing the battery cover. I won an auction on a second more complete one. The new one was in rough shape with a lot of oxidation on the metal parts. As well the trigger...

10L project’S

Added a second project to the post! Hey guys, got my racing roots from racing onroad cars in a big parking lot club back in the 80s and 90s. While the 10L wasn’t my first pan car (Bolink Eliminator “sport” earned that spot ;) the 10L came a few years after and after all these years it’s the only of ...

Re: 10L project

Thanks Marty! I’ve actually been around quite a while, but only recently began being active again. The more I’m here the more I keep coming back though! So here’s the completed car minus a body, the Novak 4 was on the bench when I was picking stuff to use, not 100% period correct, but neither are th...

Re: Tamiya Sand Scorcher - 2010 Reissue

Your post got me curious so I went back and had another peek at my Scorcher. It looks like I've just mirrored the decal placement from driver side to passenger side. Not sure where I got those smaller Gumout stickers. P1010939.JPG Anyway, lacking any official right side boxart illustrations, we're o...

Re: Tamiya Sand Scorcher - 2010 Reissue

Yes, I bought the MCI set but I also have a stash of sticker sheet remnants going back 40+ years and some of those are from my original '80 Scorcher. That's probably where I found those Gumout decals.
Anyway, since they use only two colors, you could easily print smaller replacements.

Re: Tamiya Sand Scorcher - 2010 Reissue

How can I print decals? You mean pay a service to do that for me? Well, I guess you could unless you know someone who has a color LaserJet printer. I think you can take your files to the local Office Max/Depot and use their printers. I've used the office printer in the past to print a sheet of scal...
