Re: Lexan Body Trimming - Scissors or Sharp Blade?

When scoring with a blade, I hate having to go over the same line multiple times. I will always end up missing of jumping the original score line. Unless I find a thin spot and go straight through by accident. 😑 I definitely have to trim before painting, as well as add the body mount holes. Otherwis...

I see a lot of spray paint cans there. We're going to need to see your ID to make sure you are 18 or older.

Re: 1/10 Scale On-Road - Chassis Options in 2024

Sweet gear.

Looks like the Associated chassis' rear body mount will allow for easier rearward extension to get the mounts under the body instead of the window like on the Kyosho.

How'd the Hoonitruck body look on your USA-1? :D

Re: Lexan Body Trimming - Scissors or Sharp Blade?

I also use an Optivisor with the LED light kit on it, which makes seeing the cut line in the lexan so much easier while scoring. https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/51TUVzG9O1L._AC_SL1000_.jpg  Whoa! Holy crap, you guys are serious! I didn't even know that Ultraviolet Lexan trimming headsets...

A monster fillmore could be cool...

...though, when you lower the Hoonibody down it starts looking pretty good. The little wheels got me to thinking about 13 inch gold wires... Gold actually doesn't look to bad!

We did go off the rails pretty quickly. About 5 posts ago this was about trimming Lexan.

Re: RC10CC classic clear wait list....

I typically purchase directly from Michaels on their website and save both out of state tax and shipping.

Re: Tamiya Sand Scorcher - 2010 Reissue

Nice choice of kit. Really fun to build. Even more fun to drive. It should have twelve 5x11 metal shielded ball bearings in the kit. I bought a Buggy Champ in 2009 and it came with twelve bearings.

Re: Tamiya Sand Scorcher - 2010 Reissue

Thanks for that! Perhaps the bearings it comes with aren't sealed bearings, that must be why Amazon was recommending the FastEddy kit with it. Amazon makes the recommendation as an upsell, not because the kit doesn't come with bearings. It's their version of... would you like to supersize your orde...

Re: Tamiya Sand Scorcher - 2010 Reissue

That was a great price from Amazon. A few months ago, I bought a SS re-re from a Japan ebay seller and it included bearings and hex hardware but no ESC. This was only my second Sand Scorcher. My first was purchased back in 1979 or 1980 and it was my first surface RC. Anyway, I've fitted a boxart bod...
