Re: Tamiya Blitzer Beetle - 2011 Reissue
Several upgrade ideas here. https://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=46479 One thing that I would definitely avoid is using the self tapping screws to attach the shocks to the towers. Drill through, tap to M3, and use longer machine screws. I run full length screws from the back of the towe...

Re: Super Clod build with a few mods
Got the paint good enough to put stickers over. Finally done. Take a pic, go run it, flip it, and scuff it up!
. .
Really, I should have left it all white plastic. It will have plenty of white scrapes soon enough.
The rear steer definitely addes to the maneuverability.

Re: Tamiya Lunch Box - Black Edition
Likely no esc (I realize it says there is one included). Still a great bargain and you can get a better esc for the difference. I bought a hornet last year off Amazon as it was quite a bit cheaper, same deal no esc

Re: Tamiya Lunch Box - Black Edition
The 58546A comes with the ESC. The 58546 (linked) does not. That item is the correct model number, but they copied and pasted the wrong description.

Re: Tamiya Midnight Pumpkin - Black Edition
The og pumpkin came with a white body and you had to paint it black. The black edition looks to correct that.
Kinda the same with the monster beetles where some bodies were white and some red but always red on the box

Re: Tamiya Sand Scorcher - 2010 Reissue
Was supposed to get the missing spacers on Saturday, they never arrived, so they will be here tomorrow and I can move on to the next step, and find out if I am missing anything else. Finished the tire writing. https://i.imgur.com/u7Hh4iW.jpg The toothpick is the magic for removing the mistakes, tha...

Re: Tamiya Sand Scorcher - 2010 Reissue
I agree, the tire lettering and the build overall looks fantastic! I haven't attempted mine yet. That very small font is a bit intimidating. One thing I noticed is that the angle of the upper and lower rear shock mounting screws cause binding so I bent the screws slightly to allow the shocks to cycl...

I've got one, they are nice.GreenBar0n wrote: ↑Tue Apr 02, 2024 5:54 pm Kyosho's are not $123 though, I've been trying to get a deal on the 2014 Kyosho Beetle, but $270 seems firm, everywhere.
Are you a member at Amain? They do monthly discounts. Usually around $25 off an order that size.

Re: Tamiya Midnight Pumpkin - Black Edition
There is a NIB Kyosho Beetle on FB for $220; located in Georgetown IN, which is just outside of Louisville KY. It has been listed for a while, so may not be firm on 220.GreenBar0n wrote: ↑Tue Apr 02, 2024 5:54 pm I've been trying to get a deal on the 2014 Kyosho Beetle, but $270 seems firm, everywhere.

Re: Tamiya Blitzer Beetle - 2011 Reissue
I'd also consider the Tamiya HD servo saver. The included one will get sloppy quickly.
I recommended the Tamiya model because it fits better than other types that I've tried.

Re: Tamiya Midnight Pumpkin - Black Edition
Even after being in IT for over 20 years, I've never been on FB - even once, resolutely refuse. I understand that the Marketplace is the only thing worth much, but I may just keep waiting to see what comes up on ebay. Thanks! I hate admitting that I am on FB :? , but it is true :( . Marketplace has...

Re: Tamiya Tyrrell P34 6-Wheeler - 1977 Argentine GP - 2022 Reissue
Looking good! If you're concerned about rubbing through the paint during the polishing process, you can clear-coat with lacquer since TS is lacquer based. Apply 5-10 coats of clear, wait 10 days then a light wet-sand with 2000 grit to remove dust or orange peel then polish. It will shine and reflect...
