Looks like black paint.
0.71 shocks are on the long side for a short arm car, particularly if you want a lower ride height.
If you have enough clearance at the body, a Factory Works 0.89 tower will allow you to use them. Jeff has a few different versions.

This shows Andy's arms but the information applies to short arms as well.

No, that simply refers to the style of the tower.
I like the A&L towers, and use various ones on several of my cars. But functionally, there isn't much difference.

Before painting a new set of shocks, I'd probably settle for the dark grey with black caps.

Re: 1/10 Scale On-Road - Chassis Options in 2024
Too late to suggest using the HPI stingers as masks inside the hood so you can have white painted stingers...
$1.50 Hobby Lobby 8.5x11 white vinyl sheet, stick the HPI stinger to it, cut out around it, peel the HPI decal away... instant white stinger.

Sorry to hear about your mom. Hope she's feeling better today.
Ah, gotcha, didn't see there was a little pinstripe. Must look closer next time.

Re: The RC Corvette in - (1988) The Dead Pool - Clint Eastwood
The esc in the movie car is a Futaba MC11B (G plug)/MC111B (J plug)…note the 3 adjustment pots instead of 2 on the MC112B. The MC11B/111B is rated at 130A continuous vs 100A of the MC12B/112B, so it was better choice for 7 cells and a modified motor.

Looking at the pictures, that looks like a J plug. So it'd be a 111B.
I have one. But unfortunately, it has a bad potentiometer.

Rx looks like a Futaba RP-104H which is J plug…it was standard with the FP-3PG radio.

I would use some type of etching primer. Painting aluminum is hard enough, anodized aluminum is even worse.

Re: RC10 Classic 40th anniversary
Looks cherry. Did you purchase the silver pan separately? What ESC/motor/servo are you going with? This is going to be used in the Silvercan Class so it's a Tamiya Sport Tuned, Novak GT7, and a Spektrum S6040 servo. This is stuff I pulled off of cars I'm currently not running. Also I've adapted the...

Re: RC10 Classic 40th anniversary
I wasn't planning to buy a 40th (holding out for what comes next) but while shopping on Liquid for parts for other projects a few days back, it just kept speaking to me then FOMO kicked in. Since this is a limited edition and there likely won't be parts support (part numbers have been removed from t...

Anyone know the name of the condition, or sickness, that compels one to build the wheels first, with every model? https://i.imgur.com/CFTap5r.jpg Can't quit doing this. Cart before the horse syndrome? I'm guessing it makes you a wheelophile? Anyway, those look nice. Where did you find them? ...
